Rose Bay Balancing Facial Soap

I’ve only used this soap a few times so far, but I’m already very impressed. The aroma is absolutely beautiful — soft, fresh, and calming without being overwhelming. It makes my cleansing routine feel a little more like a self-care ritual.

What I appreciate most is how gentle it feels on my rosacea-prone, sensitive skin. After washing, my face feels clean, balanced, and comfortable — not tight or stripped. There’s a smooth, refreshed feeling that lasts, which is not always easy to find with facial bars.

I’m always on the lookout for face soaps that truly accommodate sensitive skin, and this one feels like a wonderful addition to my collection. So if you enjoy gentle, naturally scented skincare that leaves your skin feeling fresh and cared for, this soap is definitely worth trying.

The smell is wonderful and gets 5 stars. I'm giving it an overall 4 stars, though, as it's a bit drying on the face. I still plan to keep using it, though!

You need to be okay with strong scents, because this is very strong, but even my husband who normally hates scented soaps likes the smell of this one. I'm not sure if it is balancing my skin, but it feels good, smells good, causes no irritation and leaves no greasy residue. A great soap!

This is a great plastic-free option for a face wash. I have dry skin and it is definitely thorough so I recommend following up with a rich moisturizer

The scent was very strong when first received, which I enjoyed because it left my bathroom smelling wonderful. The scent is a lot milder now after a few weeks of having the soap sitting out. I use it daily and love how gentle it is on my skin. Will probably purchase again

This is my second purchase of this soap. It's not overly drying like many other bar soaps and I love the rose scent. It's pretty strong, and normally I have aversion to strong scents, but this somehow works for me. But what I love best is that I can use this on both my sensitive face and for my hands. I was using a different handsoap that was way too harsh and completely dried out my skin during our below zero temps here in MN, but after switching to this soap, it brought the moisture right back! Add to that, that it comes in minimal packaging and it checks all my boxes!

I smelled the rose scent the first moment I opened the package. It is strong but it does fade a bit but not completely. I sparely use it because it cleanses my skin deeply. It does strip my skin and I do need to apply moisturizer after. Overall, it makes for a nice mini spa day and leaves a nice scent after using it.

The scent hit me in the face when I first took it out of the package -- and filled my entire bathroom + hallway for a few days after. Not sure if it's faded or if I've just gone nose-blind to it.

Other than that, the product is lovely. I use a prescription-strength retinol, so my skin is quite sensitive and most cleansers are too harsh, but this works surprisingly well. It does leave the skin feeling a little squeaky-clean after washing (which I'm not a fan of in general), but I don't really mind it in this case; the skin doesn't actually feel tight or dry, and I'm able to leave my skin before moisturizing for ~half an hour after washing (necessary for retinol).

I grew up in an unscented household, and stronger smells make me feel ill. The Rose Bay was exceedingly pungent when I first received it, and even after several uses, our bathroom still was rose-scented. That said, this is a gentle cleanser that removes my light makeup (mascara and blush) very effectively, and didn't dry out my skin at all. The reason this gets a 5-star despite the smell is due to how generous the team at Earth Harbor was when I contacted them. They offered to take the soap back, despite the fact that I'd already used it twice, because I was worried about being ill. I shouldered through, because the quality was so fantastic, but it must be said that they were so kind to me.

Very nourishing for my skin and gentle on my face. I think it kind of helps heal my blemishes a little faster, but not 100% sure. The rose smell is very strong when you first get it, but it settles down after a week of use, haha. Otherwise, it's very nice and I like the rich and luxious smell of rose~

Got this for my mom for her birthday - she loves it and just left it out on the table for some time to take in the rose aroma...

My personal opinion is that the packaging is great, zero plastic! Finally! I go between their charcoal face bar and the rose. The rose has a light smell and some sea salt so it's nice when you want a hydrating face wash. I tend to use the charcoal when I fee like I'm oily after a workout. I love the rose for early mornings it's a nice refreshing scent to wake up my skin! Love it, I would definitely buy again!

It does not take off my makeup (none of which is waterproof). I still have to use oil first to take off my makeup then use this to wash off the excess oil. This soap does not leave my skin feeling overly dry. It does have a strong rose scent which I do not like. I will be looking for a less scented soap when I am done with this but this is a good soap.
