These are my first unpaper towels. I liked that they were simple and didn’t have crazy designs. They’re a nice little size. They work well for cleaning, but are not the most absorbent. I have only had them for a few weeks, but I do hope that they get better over time.

These are awesome! I bought one pack and was using them so much that I decided to get another pack. They are perfect for replacing paper towels when I’m cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, and so on.
They definitely lack absorption when you first get them, but they get better with every wash. Be patient and you will love them 🙂

My partner used to run through regular paper towels so quickly and we were looking for a more environmentally friendly alternative, so this really worked well for us. He loves them, and we even ended up coming back and buying more.

Great as napkins, pressing tofu or drying up spills. Theh did leave some fibers when used for wiping mirrors / windows if you care about that.

I’ve enjoyed being able to use these as a replacement for paper towels. I use them mostly for clean ups and a little bit for drying produce. They’ve worked pretty well for me, are soft to the touch, and are easy to clean. I did notice that they are a little fuzzy, but haven’t noticed if the fuzz comes off on the food.

*Experience after about 5 months of use*
Pros:
These are a soft and pleasant-feeling material. It is really easy to roll these onto a conventional paper towel holder, which is both cute and fun- the sheets stick to each other and are a nice color (pretty accurate to that shown in the picture).
Cons:
Off the bat, not as absorbent as a standard washcloth would be I think. I DID know about this prior to purchasing thanks to some earlier reviews, and an EarthHero rep said they believe their absorbency increases over time. I have had them for 5 months, but don’t use them too often so I haven’t noticed this wear-in. I do believe they will get better over time more, but I wish that they were a little more absorbent at first!
All in all, I would recommend them!

I’m obsessed with these unpaper towels! They are perfect for wiping up spills. I especially like using them for cleaning the counters, wiping out the fridge, and cleaning up after my little ones. They are easy to clean… just throw them in the washer and reuse again, once dried.

These are so nice and soft I may use them for something other than cleaning. They are good for liquid spills, but will get very dirty very fast in my house. Also good for wiping down tables and counters.

I was a little disappointed with these towels! I should have looked at the measurements better because they are more like washcloths size. They’re great for my five year old because of our frequent messes and it’s something he can easily grab and we’re not wasting paper towels. I feel I wasn’t able to get the stains out of them so unfortunately these do not get proudly displayed in our kitchen. I probably won’t buy this brand again but I will try some more brands because I love this idea.

They seem nice and paper towely, until you need it to actually clean up a mess. It seriously just moves it around and doesn’t absorb anything.

Hi Rachel, thank you for sharing your feedback! We’ve found that the absorbancy of these towels increases with each wash, which is one reason we love ’em. Something that gets better with age!! We’re here to help if you have any questions at support@earthhero.com.

I wish I had not spent $40 on these. I’ve washed them 4 times now and their absorbency has not improved in the slightest. They are very linty as well. I would have been better off buying a bundle of regular towel wash cloths (which I plan to do).

I don’t find them to be as absorbent as other paper towel alternatives I’ve purchased from etsy for example (it’s the difference in material), but they are great for certain tasks and wash well. I use other cloths for cleaning and wiping hands. Wish these were bigger!

We use these as wet wipes at the dinner table (for our 3 yr old daughter). They’ve held up really well and don’t seem to hold on to stains. We used to use cheap washcloths from a big box store that got moldy/mildewy really quickly. These don’t! They dry out quickly but soak up water/spills well. And they’re soft! Win win win.

I love that it is an alternative to paper towel, however i’m still hesitant to use these in heavy duty clean up because I’m worried I won’t get stain off. I still use cut up old tshirt for heavy duty cleaning, wiping down stove, countertop, oil/grease, wine/coffee spill area. Does anyone have experience with heavy staining and what do you do?

Hi there! While we don’t recommend using bleach on these to get out stains, we do like to use a stain stick to pretreat and remove stains before washing! Additionally, we’ve found that soaking these tough stains in a water and vinegar mixture can help make them less noticeable 🙂

Question
jhall251 –
since these are organic cotton they should be compostable at end of life. but the end of life just says donate. Are they compostable?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
EarthHero –
Hi there! We love natural fibers (like the organic cotton in these towels) because are biodegradable. This means that it will readily break down at the end of its life, leaving nothing harmful behind (like microplastics!). However, the word ‘compost’ suggests that it will easily break down in a home or commercial compost which is not always true or realistic when it comes to textiles. These organic cotton towels are sturdy and meant to last for years and years. When they can no longer be used on countertops or to wipe up kitchen spills, they make great cleaning rags for outdoor gear, bikes, cleaning your pet’s paws, etc. If you have a home compost and would like to compost, no harm should come to your pile. You may just notice that the rags take a bit longer than other organic matter to break down. 🙂

I purchased these to use as a cleaning replacement for paper towels around the house, specifically kitchen. These towels are incredibly soft, yet durable despite the spills, grime, and grease they encounter each day. They aren’t super absorbent on the first use or two, but as you wash and use them repeatedly they absorb more. They are prone to stains because they are unbleached, but most wash out with stain remover and hot water. I have used these for about 3 months now and I can’t count the number of paper towels (and dollars) I have saved when I clean up after each meal or on a weekly basis! I highly recommend them and will certainly purchase more!

Question
jnlejano –
Do these stain easily?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
EarthHero –
Hi! These organic cotton cloths are incredible for wiping up spills and cleaning surfaces. They’re unbleached to begin with which means that when confronted with a particularly concentrated mess (turmeric, grease, berries), they may stain. However, with proper care, it should be easy to maintain their original creamy color! We like Dropps Stain and Odor detergent pods and for extra tough stains, Dropps Oxy Boost pods. Other natural stain busters include baking soda, distilled white vinegar, and even lemon or lime juice. Another tip is to always wash or soak the cloths in water immediately following a tough clean up to further prevent staining!

These are made from such a lovely soft material, as soon as I felt them I saved one aside as my face cloth :). They are not super duper absorbent the first time but as you wash them a few times they get more readily absorbent. I have used them already to rest and dry freshly washed berries, cover sourdough while it rises, and wipe up many spills. We are using them as our general hand towels for in the kitchen too and they feel luxurious.

I am looking to replace the paper towel use fro when we cook oily food or pat down fish and meat. Can you recommend a product? I read a similar question in regards to this and determined these aren’t for that kind of use.
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
EarthHero –
Hi, Susan! We like to use wire racks over cookie sheets to drain foods that are oily to remove the bulk of the oil and pat down meats and fish with paper bags. Another option is setting aside a cloth to be used only for this purpose – we like this undyed option from Blaynk!

We are finding the transition to these unpaper towels to be really easy. We used to spray the counter and use several paper towels to wipe it all down. We are finding we use less spray because we use hot, soapy water instead, and just one can clean the whole kitchen. Then we throw it in the wash. We still use an occasional paper towel for oily or especially smelly clean-up like fish juice, but we wouldn’t have to. It’s a choice as we transition paper towels to less frequent use. The towels aren’t linty and after just one wash we found them to be absorbent and they have just gotten better with use.

Super soft, but does not absorb! Great for napkins, which is what I’m using them for. These will not pick up spilt water, but they will wipe your surface clean! I’ve also used them as a dishrag & that worked nicely too… just not a paper towel replacement.

Hi, Amanda! Thank you for your honest review of the Unpaper Towels! Per the product’s specifications on our site, they will become more absorbent after the first few washes! Question
Che –
Are they linty? Like, I mostly use paper towels for food, like putting french fries or fried chicken on to absorb the oil when they come out of the pan. Is this gonna leave cotton fuzz on my food? Or on a mirror if I’m cleaning it? I’m sure it’ll be fine for run of the mill cleaning, but, I’ve always used rags for that anyway.

These work great. We are transitioning away from paper towels and I like what this brand stands for. I didn’t have a good solution to replace my paper towels that I already owned. Once we start using them everyday consistently, I will probably purchase a second pack so I have 12 to use between my husband and myself. We have a basket in our pantry for dirty ones, which seems to work quite nice.
