About the Company

Brush with Bamboo

Every single plastic toothbrush, since production first began in the 1930’s, still exists in a landfill or ocean today (that’s over 4.7 billion brushes!) Shocked? So was the Kumar family, founders of Brush with Bamboo. They decided to take matters into their own hands and create a toothbrush that composts in nature, instead of polluting it!

Their signature toothbrush, made from sustainably grown 100% Certified Organic Wild Moso bamboo, features plant-based bio-bristles from Castor Bean oil and compostable packaging derived from vegetable cellophane. The brush handle is commercially compostable, as is their bamboo straws. Plus all their products are vegan, cruelty-free, BPA-free, and without toxins. How could it get better than that?

The days of your toothbrushes living longer than you do are in the past. With Brush with Bamboo, you are saying no to plastic pollution and yes to sustainable solutions! Together, we can keep our teeth clean and the environment even cleaner by switching over to eco-friendly alternatives like Brush with Bamboo.

Got to replace kitchen scrubber. It works well but not as great as I hoped. Isn’t a 1-1 swap with traditional scrubbers for stuck on particles. But does 90% of the job

For both uses, these last a good month and a half before getting funky. Worked very effectively for both. Did find a sprouting plant woven inside my last one, but that may have been a fluke.

Too thick, not sponge like-good scrubber tho

They’re not what I expected. Judging by the last photo I thought they were cut to be flatter when wet. They blow up to the size of a normal loofah. Downside is food gets stuck easily, especially tiny quinoa, chia seeds. I put them through the dishwasher and hold up well. I would buy again esp if I cannot find a thinner one easier to wash, ring out.

Bought these to replace my plastic loofah and I’m glad I did. They are a bit more abrasive than the plastic ones but it does the job. They do smell like wet cereal – kind of weird but have read from other reviewers that it does go away.

I was a little skeptical but really determined to not buy another plastic scrubby. This is a little more rough but I’m already used to it and feeling much better about being able to compost this when I’m done using it.

I’ve been trying to find an alternative to plastic loofahs for ages. I never really felt comfortable with natural sponges because of the risk that they’re wild and my purchase is doing more harm than good. But I feel a lot better knowing these ones specifically are farmed. They don’t hold onto soap as well as the plastic loofahs I’ve used, but that’s okay for me.

My husband does the dishes and he says: Not a good “sponge,” but good scrubber. 4 stars.
