Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors–yikes! If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.
Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

No complaints! I put the powder in the bottom of the drum of my washer and then add the laundry. My city has low-moderately hard water and this detergent works fine even on a cold wash. I haven’t found any residue left on my clothes. Sometimes I add a little oxy clean or borax if I need some extra cleaning power. Everything comes out smelling fresh and clean without any added fragrance. The price is great. I will buy again.

I love the laundry soap. Using 1 tablespoon is great. I actually bought a box of Tide in cardboard as it took awhile for the Eco order to arrive. So I put a table spoon of that into the water too. Turns sudsy. Works just fine.

I have bought this five times now and absolutely love it! My family enjoys it as well. I have made my own laundry detergent, used all sorts of eco-friendly detergents and my family agrees this is the best stuff. I love that I can compost the bag after it’s gone and it’s legit zero waste! We live out in the country so we have hard water and I just add 1/4 cup of vinegar to each load. Being farmers, our clothes get very dirty and the 1 tablespoon of this stuff gets the job done!

Completely plastic free! Minimal, compostable packaging! A little goes a long way! I’m practically in love with this washing powder–my first time trying a non-commercial (non-liquid) brand. I add distilled vinegar to my rinse cycle to combat our hard water. And I’ve found washing (sturdy) whites in warm water really helps return them to sparkling. A natural stain-stick does wonders for removing tougher, oilier stains than the powder alone. (I considered taking a star off for that but honestly, I’d have to pre-treat stains when using my old detergent, so really it’s no harm/no foul in my book). PRO TIP: the powder clumps and doesn’t dissolve well in cold water washes, so I’ll either start a wash on warm, add the powder, then switch to cold; or I’ll mix the powder in a large measuring cup with warm water to dissolve it first, and add that to the cold wash as it’s filling.

This product was our first attempt at laundry powder, and we really love it. We recently reordered our second bag. We love everything about it. We’re hooked.

I was skeptical when I first tried this detergent but I have been using it for a couple of months and it does the job with a small amount of detergent. For white clothes I do add some vinegar.

I’m glad to have found this laundry powder. We tried dropps pods first, but in our front loader the capsules would not always fully disintegrate, and we would find the slimy remains on clothes or stuck inside the washer after the cycle. I usually wash on cold water, and didn’t want to start using warm water just so the pods would melt all the way. This powder really cleans and it’s surprising because there’s hardly anything in it. It is unscented, and I do use vinegar with most loads to reduce static and whatever else vinegar does. I love the cardboard packaging, and I will definitely buy this again.

This is a very cheap detergent! It lasts forever and actually works. Its fragrance-free which is nice because I can add my own. No residue left on clothes.

I took the advice with my hard water to use the vinegar, and it worked at least as well as other detergents I’ve used (I’ve tried to be all natural for a while). Love love LOVE how it doesn’t come with yet another plastic scoop and how the only thing not used up or easily compostable is the sticker on the bag.

I tried this detergent and it also does the job well. I have used it to clean my cloth diapers. My cloth diapers are cleaned well and there is no bad smell that lingers. My baby’s skin is also sensitive and she tends to get rashes depending on the detergent I use. This has not reacted bad with her skin at all. I will continue to use this and meliora. Great product.
