- Additional info: sodium cocoate is the chemical name of coconut oil that has been saponified (aka 'made into soap'). Sodium sunflowerate is the chemical name of sunflower seed oil that has been saponified. There will be some coconut and sunflower seed oils left in the soap after they are saponified, due to the fact that Meliora uses sodium hydroxide, or lye, in the conversion process. Leaving these excess oils in the soap ensures there is NO remaining lye in the finished product, and gives the soap its lather and moisture. This process is also called 'superfatting'. Glycerin is naturally created when the oils are converted into soap–and helps to keep skin soft, and is an effective solvent, making it great for dissolving stains and dirt. Water is used in the soapmaking process to dissolve the lye, and then is dried out over several weeks, resulting in a hard soap bar with very little water leftover. There is ~5% water leftover in these soap bars, compared to liquid soap that contains ~60% water.

Organic Bath & Body Castile Soap Bar
Trying this out, I usually buy unscented Castile soaps. Works great, suds up nice, cleans well, and does not feel as drying as other soaps. Truly unscented, does not irritate my sensitive skin. Use it in the shower. Costs more than other brands, but worth it as they are transparent. Wish there was more than a 3 bar bulk option!

I like the way this soap lathers .
I'm trying to find a more eco friendly option than the plastic body washes, but this soap unfortunately isn't it. It severely dries out my skin the several showers I've tried so far with it.

Easily produces creamy lather and amazing honey lavender scent that smells like the Salt & Straw ice cream. My husband and I are fans!
Solid soap
Love the unscented option. It is hard to find a zero waste option that does not include essential oils which my skin can be very sensitive to. This soap makes your skin feel clean without having too much of a film feeling.
I like that this soap doesn't dissolve too quickly like other more natural soaps do. I like the zero waste bundle they sometimes have. Best price!
We use this to wash hands. With COVID, we need a non-drying soap that doesn't melt like crazy. This is more eco friendly than liquid handsoap and it's not drying. Win win!
I use this to wash my reusable pads, and it's fantastic. Don't need to worry about getting funky chemicals in such a sensitive area.
I bought the Unscented 3-pack since they were out of Lemongrass. I've noticed natural soaps seem to go faster than something like Dove soap bars. So they're a bit more expensive and don't last as long--but at least I'm not putting weird chemicals onto my body, and I'm glad to support companies that make sustainability a priority. Also there are no synthetic fragrances for my skin to react to.
This soap is great for the body and as a hand soap. I like that it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight like other soaps do. Its also a good price considering each bar is pretty big and lasts awhile.
How long does it last for?
Hello! That is going to depend greatly on how often you use it! Studies say a bar of soap with "average" usage lasts about a month!
