Anise + Clove Tooth Cleansing Oil

I use it weekly to complement regular toothpaste. Only a 2-3 drops needed and creates foam to brush. Anise and clove taste can be strong if you are not used to it. Leaves a very clean sense of taste.

I do not enjoy the taste and probably won't buy this again.

I typically use Sensodyne and I like this better. It only needs three small drops and I swear my teeth are whiter. I also like that it doesn’t foam much so it’s not making a mess around my mess. I also don’t think the taste is bad at all.

I had a lot of skepticism about this product, for no other reason than thinking traditional toothpaste couldn't be replaced. I've tried a lot of different natural brands and usually end up disliking them. Until this one! I'm not about to say I am in love with the flavor (I like mint) but honestly - not bad. It cured my bad breath problem, which is my greatest appreciation to this product, but it feels just as clean as traditional toothpaste. Really impressed!

Like some of the other reviews have said, it does take some time to get used to the undertone flavor of Castile soap. It took maybe two or three uses for me to get used to it. I now am more focused on the anise and clove flavors, as well as the super clean feel I get from the presence of the soap. Tube toothpastes now feel offensively sweet, and it it feels like a film of sugar is coating my mouth. I do spend a little more time rinsing with water after I brush with this oil to get rid of some soap, but it's worth it for me. I even went to the Fat and the Moon website and purchased their mouthwash, and it pairs really nicely. For travel I will still use the Humble tablets with fluoride, but this is now my go-to home tooth cleaner.

I quickly got used to a very mild soap taste (otherwise the taste is quite pleasant) and love how well this works. I only bought it b/c I was looking for a temporary alternative to a jarred toothpaste I love that has been out of stock. But this works just as well and when my teeth are sensitive, this bothers them less than anything else I've tried. I will definitely buy this again!

I have lots of issues with the texture and taste of toothpaste. After my last brand reformulated I was unable to use them, I gave this a try. I am so glad I did! You really only need a drop or two. The taste is on the stronger side and lingers in the back of your throat so I wouldn't suggest if you don't like anise. My teeth feel so clean after. I hope eventually Earth Hero will have the mint flavor and the option to order a refill without the dropper.

Thought I'd give this a-go, even though I have tried the tablets and loved them. It definitely tastes of anise and clove, so if you're into those flavors you won't be disappointed; however, this is the first time I have tried a Castile soap-based tooth cleanser and it's taking a little bit of getting used to - my solution is to use 1 drop - even that is enough.
I have super sensitive teeth and am not solely using this cleanser so don't know how helpful it is to keep sensitivity down overall. If I get used to the Castile flavor I will buy again as it'll last forever at the rate I'm using it!

I had been using a toothpaste tablet you buy on Earthhero that worked well but just tasted sooo salty and gross. I was looking for another more environmentally alternative to toothpaste tubes and thought I would try this. I was worried it wouldn't be sudsy (I thought it would be . . . well . . . oily since it is called a cleansing oil) and that it would taste as gross as the tooth tablets (or just oily). It doesn't! With just 2-3 drops of the oil, you'll have a super sudsy cleaning agent that taste like it says - anise and clove. So far, I also feel like this is better for my teeth than the tooth tablets. The only negative I have is that the tooth oil is going to be annoying to travel with. Not a huge complaint (especially during the pandemic), but something to think about.

I like it a lot. I hate mint so the flavor is great and since you only need a drop or two it lasts a long time and helps justify the price. It works just as well as if not better than any conventional toothpaste but it is so much more ethical and better for the environment.
