Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors–yikes! If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.
Phthalate Free
Phthalates are found in toys, electronics, personal care products, plastic wraps, containers, and more. These petroleum based chemicals help soften plastics, and bind fragrances to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other personal care products. Phthalates are are not chemically bound, meaning they can easily get released into the air, water, or your body, just by using the products as intended. Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive damage, hormonal imbalances, infertility, mood changes, metabolism changes, and more.

Light refreshing smell. I prefer the deodorant pastes in jars over the sticks.

I was in love with this deodorant from Day 1.
I like this deodorant SO much more than other healthy/eco deodorants I’ve tried (Native was too rough on my skin during application, Fat and the Moon is yellow and stained my clothes).

I used this deodorant for about 9 months when I thought my skin was sensitive to baking soda (due to a bad experience with another deodorant brand). I’ve since found out I’m not sensitive to baking soda and have switched to another product, but I liked this deodorant a lot! A little goes a long way, it goes on easily, and it smells very nice (I got the grapefruit). I sweat pretty easily, so had to reapply at least once or more if it was an active day, but on less active days it would usually work through the whole day. The only challenge, as can be expected, is that you need to wash your hands after applying, which doesn’t allow for the same quick and easy reapplication that a stick deodorant does. But if you’re sensitive to things in other deodorants and looking for a good low-waste product, I would recommend this one!

Years upset with other deodorant from drugstores and irritated and itchy armpits. I love the gentle formula and the subtle citrus hint leaves no rashes (using couple weeks now) and love this part of my regimen now. It melts in your fingers and has a non greasy formula. Just reapply if you need a little more to help with odor.

Really hated this option–it was messy to put on (gets all over your fingers since it’s creamy) and it did not work AT ALL. I would wear this for a few hours and still be stinky. (And I had been switched to various plastic-free and aluminum-free options for at least 3 months by this point.) Definitely do not recommend this.

I’ve used this deodorant a few time and I like it. The lavender version smells wonderful. I don’t have a spoon, so I use my finger to apply the deodorant. It’s easy enough to put on and it doesn’t feel weird. During the summer i had a higher chance of sweating, but that’s happened with other deodorant too, so I’m not really bothered. I can’t remember if the deodorant left a stain on my darker clothes, but the white shirt I wore recently was fine.

This deodorant works for me, but it if your a heavy sweater, it may not be for you. I like that it doesn’t require a lot of working in or warming with your hands to get it to spread. It’s smooth and creamy, but doesn’t feel greasy. And the smell is nice, and subtle. I do sometimes have to apply it more than once during the day, but I don’t mind. I recommend this for average daily use for light sweaters.

I love that its vegan and baking powder free since baking powder makes my underarms itchy. It smells great and doesn’t leave my underarms feeling oily or wet which has happened to me after using other natural deodorants. high recommend!

I hate sweating so much and since becoming a vegan I searched high and low for cruelty free deodorants that actually work. After many mistrials I discovered Schmidt’s, but they discontinued sensitive skin solids. Essential oil products irritate my skin so in search again I located this at Earth Hero. It is more of a cream and I was a bit dubious, but tested and it is effective and that means a lot seeing I sweat heavily. I like this product!

I switched to this product as a Dove loyalist and “natural” product skeptic, drawn in by the plastic-free packaging. Quarantine seemed like the perfect time to try a new deodorant. I was really pleasantly surprised by the product! It’s very smooth to apply, smells very mild and nice though it is unscented, perfect for day-to-day wear, and only starts to get a little bit iffy with light exercise in the summer heat. I remove a star because I watched a youtube video by Dr. Dray (MD) about natural deodorants, and she talked about the importance of not using deodorants with a basic pH or else you risk creating a better environment for the odor-causing bacteria and causing irritation. After maybe 2-4 weeks of use I personally have not had any issues, but her opinion trumps my own here. I wish there were an option to buy a more acidic version of this product with the aluminum salts found in most drugstore deodorants, which is an ingredient that the medical literature supports (and I think there is a huge hole in the market for a plastic-free aluminum antiperspirant/ deodorant!!). Ultimately I do love meow meow tweet’s ethos so I will continue to buy from them, but I’m not sure yet if this deodorant will be a repeat purchase.

Hi Mary, we’re stoked that you are loving this deodorant! All of our deodorants are aluminum-free, as some find it irritating if they have sensitive skin! We love baking soda and arrowroot powder as less irritating alternatives. Baking soda and magnesium in natural deodorants can help create too alkaline an environment for bacteria to feed on the proteins and fats delivered through your sweat—so, no smell! If you have any questions, you can always reach out to hello@earthhero.com– we’re super passionate about the safest and most effective natural products out there!

I have tried more than 10 different natural deodorants and I found that each dried my skin out so much that it would crack and bleed. This is the only deodorant that keeps the odor away and my pits happy. No red skin.

I, at first, was hesitant to buy this product because I have had some great success with other natural brands, but I REALLY wanted to go plastic free. I am a constant sweater: day and night. I tried this before bed, woke up without odor. Then I applied some before walks/runs, and afterwards there was still a slight smell of BO but even I had to have a few sniffs to really smell it. My clothes–after the exercise–also had the slight smell of BO but it was hard to notice. My partner, who has a keen sense of smell, didn’t even notice the slight smell. On terms of the product smell, when first applied, it smell like a subtle grapefruit (which I like). After a full day, it goes away and you are left scent less. In conclusion, I am definitely going to try this brand again, and perhaps the ones with baking soda or other essential oils will eliminate that ever so slight odor. All in all, I am satisfied!
