Zinc Sun Butter - SPF 50+

This is SUCH a great company ethically and environmentally. This sun butter goes a long way for how small the container looks, and it's affordable, especially for being organic and fair trade. Plus, it's moisturizing. My only complaint is the white cast. If there were less of a white cast, then I would give five stars.

It’s crazy how much mileage you get out of this tiny tin of sunscreen. As a skin cancer survivor with extremely fair skin this is a life saver. It’s waterproof and lasts most of the day and is a higher spf than most sunceeens. Definitely worth it and I’ll be buying more to keep in my car, purse and children’s bags.

EWG approved or at least a high rating- that’s all I need.

Good reef safe sunscreen, the untinted leaves a little white color like they all do but not more than other brands. Would have liked a larger size though.

I have very pale skin and this leaves a significant white tint on my skin. I typically only use it under my eyes and use the tinted liquid by the same brand over it for the rest of my face. but I haven't had any issues with oily residue.

This worked well for me, as a very light skinned person. I enjoyed the texture and water resistance. I got dirty working in my garden and was able to rinse the soil off without removing the sun screen. I would like to be able to purchase a larger tin of this.

I bought this as my first venture into reef safe and plastic free sunscreen for the summer. I didn't read the description well enough, and didn't realize how little was in the package. This is a good option for the face, but not your whole body. I will say it works well though. My partner put a glob (without rubbing it in well) on his chest, and the area it covered was very well protected! The "tan line" was there for a while.

I wanted to use this as a face sunscreen. I like that it comes in a tin container. I think it would be good to carry around in my purse and reapply throughout the day. However, it leaves a white cast that does not go away even after vigorous rubbing in. I won't purchase again, and I will continue to look elsewhere for a face sunscreen.

I primarily use this as face/neck sunscreen. It works well and does not leave my face as white as other zinc sunscreens do. I do typically apply foundation over this sunscreen to add some color. Although this works well, I bought this product along with their “tinted” sunscreen and prefer the tinted to use for face sunscreen as I don't have to use foundation (which creates less product and packaging needed).

This takes a bit of getting use to but it works great! The trick is to rub it on one finger then dab is all over the face. I typically only use this for my face though because I imagine this would take forever to do the whole body. I think it would have been better if the package was a bit bigger and the product a bit less compact so that it would be easier to use.

I think this product works that it doesn't feel greasy when you put it on or leave crazy white cast. Try to keep in cool place because the product can leak oil from tin during hot days.

This was my first zero waste sunscreen, and I just didn't really like it. It definitely left a white cast. It had a thicker texture than I would have liked, almost a little bit grainy.

I have been using sunscreen on my face as part of a skincare routine since I was a teenager. I've always been terrified of getting skin cancer and try to limit my sun exposure. I love that this sunscreen isn't too expensive, goes onto my skin pretty easily, and is a high SPF. I don't mind that it makes my skin a little whiter than normal because I have pretty pale skin, and it gives the illusion of my skin being a little less red. It doesn't cause breakouts and checks all my eco-friendly boxes. It also doesn't leave an oily-sheen like some other face sunscreens I've had in the past. I like that I'm able to do a low-waste sunscreen product because I making sunscreen DIY is a recipe for disaster. I'm also busy and don't want to spend my time making things myself.

A little goes a LONG way with this product, so even though it is deceivingly small, it is going to last a very long time. It takes more time than usual to rub in, but once you do the protection is great. Great to carry with you on the go just in case you need it, as well as planned trips. I use this at the beach and it doesn't wash off easily!

Took a bit to get used to but the trick to avoiding the white caste seems to be using small thin dabs to spread it evenly. (I am white with a mild tan and light freckles). Happy to have something that is reef safe and easy to throw in any bag.

Does a good job by not leaving my skin oily. I mainly use it for my face. I wish the company would have a bigger sustainable non-plastic packaging for their body sunscreen options.

This works well for me as I work outside daily for most of the day. It doesn't break me out and feels good going on. It is a little thick and goes on white, but that does not bother me because a tinted powder fixes the paleness. Overall a good product that I will buy again.

I wanted to like this. But it's so thick and chunky and doesn't go on smoothly. Also it is sooo white and I'm a pale person. Looks like chunky white paint

A little small, but it is so thick you only need a little and it seems to work pretty good and doesn't noticeably break me out as i'm super sensitive to most sunscreens

This is the first mineral based and reefsafe sunscreen I've used. It's a very thick white paste. A little goes a long way. I personally found that applying lotion to the skin first and then applying little dabs of the sunscreen everywhere allows the product to rub in and spread more easily.

Great product but the container is small for the price. Plus, the consistency and a bit thick and a bit greasy. It's also hard to get out of the container

Can be a little hard to rub in and way smaller than I'd like (especially for the price) but I'm still happy with it and will most likely purchase again when I run out. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and it didn't irritate my 8 month old baby's skin either

This sunscreen is a little thick but its great! It doesn't break me out and I like that it comes in a little tin that I can reuse for something else when it runs out.

this is alright but i gives me such a white cast and i am a Fitzpatrick 2 on the Fitzpatrick scale and it doesn't last that long i have used it for 3 days and i have used like half of it already

Unless you have very fair skin this leaves a horrible white cast! I regret not getting the tinted version but who knows how much better that would have been. Also, it reacts easily to different weather temps. If it's cold it easily gets hard, if it's warm it easily melts. Not really worth the 5.99 I paid when it was on sale. Sorry if this sounds harsh but I'm being honest.

When I first opened the sunscreen, it was almost rock hard. I wasn't sure if it would start to soften/melt so I was pretty worried. However, after some time rubbing my fingers in the butter, it softened and I haven't had the same problem since. It's almost replaced my BB cream at this point and I'm satisfied with that!

Good packaging, good product. For both humans and the environment. Worked well for camping.

I like that the're no harmful chemicals in this and also love that it comes in a metal tin rather than plastic.
My boyfriend and I go to a lot of outdoor games and events and this is the perfect size to fit in my small bags and the clear bags that a lot of places require you use at events these days.
It is very white and thick, so a little goes a long way. I took just a dab and rubbed it in, but my boyfriend took a big scoop of it like he would have with regular sunscreen. He never got it fully rubbed in, especially around his facial hair. But that was his fault for taking too much at once. Point being, build it up rather than trying to glob on a lot at once.

I like that this sunscreen doesn't have harmful chemicals for me or the environment. It is a bit small but I was just looking for one for my face that I can carry around and this one works just fine. It is thick but I just combine it with my moisturizer to avoid leaving any white spots on my face.
