Want to take a 3 course meal on a picnic, but don't have enough room in your bag? The 3-Tier Stainless Steel Tiffin is the answer you've been looking for. The 3 self-latching lids give you the flexibility to choose how many tiers to take on your your adventures. The first tier is great for liquids, with all tiers keeping cold food cold and hot food hot. Just pack it, stack it, and go!

My husband had been wanting a tiffin for a while, so when I found Earthhero and saw that they had them, I immediately purchased one for him. I read in the description and under the product specifications that the top tiffin was good for liquids, which is what sold me on this particular one. Unfortunately, it was not true. Even with only a little liquid in it, the top tiffin leaks. This is my only complaint. It holds other items well and is very convenient otherwise. I will have to purchase a different container for items such as stews, soups, and creams.

Hi Aliana, this tiffin is not leakproof. We’d recommend one of these options for the soup, as these boxes are made specifically for soups and liquidy items.

Question
Chris –
Will this work for a camping propane grill?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
EarthHero –
Hi Chris! We don’t recommend using this tiffin on a stove or grill, as the base isn’t enforced as strongly as a stainless steel pot or pan would be. But it would be great for storing leftovers or specific ingredients!

I like it for what it is. But I was wanting one that is taller and wider. Just don’t know if they make them that way.

Hi Daniel! We have a few different tiffins (linked here) that might be what you’re looking for. So happy to hear you are loving this one 😀

This tiffin is the perfect restaurant companion for taking home leftovers. I’ve really enjoyed using it! The down side is that one of the buckles of the small brace broke a few weeks after receiving it. Fortunately, the large brace is in tact, so the tiffin is still usable.

I love taking this to restaurants with me! The fact that it’s sleek, cute, and compact seems to make people more positively interested in it rather than giving weird looks.

This has proven perfect for packing snacks for hikes, kayaking or the beach, as well as storing leftovers from restaurants. I went on a long strenuous hike with a friend who was unprepared. Thankfully my tiffin carried enough food to keep us going throughout the 7hr hike! It was also a life saver during a full day of kayaking on the lake when sandwiches just wouldnt cut it. Plus no waste! And you can even store excess trash in the top container when you’re done.

I love how versatile this container it. I even like that I don’t need all 3 sometimes. I can bring 2 or even 1. I like how slim it is and packs really well in my bag. Holds a good amount of food/snacks.

Stainless steel cleans up very easily. I would not want to drop and dent it. Accommodates my hot and cold food, upright when hot. People ask me about it and where I got it.

Question
Kayse –
We bought this container recently and just got it today. We can’t seem to open the top container. Any tips or tricks to get it to open? We can unlatch the latches but can’t separate the lid from the first tier.

EarthHero –
Hi, Kayse! I’m so sorry to hear that your tiffin isn’t opening! A few things that have helped team EH in the past when we run into this issue are running it under hot water, cold water, and lightly tapping the lid! Send us an email at hello@earthhero.com or live chat from 8-5 MST M-F and we’ll make this right for you!

Question
Katherine Nash –
How long would this keep hot foods (rice, beans, etc) hot? Worried there is no insulation to keep school lunch warm enough.
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
EarthHero –
Hi Katherine! This tiffin isn’t insulated so it won’t keep food very hot. For rice and beans or even soup (does anyone like cold soup?), try this insulated canister by Klean Kanteen. It keeps food or liquids hot for up to 8 hours! 😀

Question
Corrin –
Any tricks on reopening the top container after adding hot food? Seems the heat has created an extra tight seal.
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
EarthHero –
Hi Corrin! While uncommon, a stuck lid can and does happen! Sometimes while packing up a meal, residue or liquid gets trapped in the seal of the lid, making it almost “super suction” to itself. Here are a few tricks: try running the seam of the lid under hot and then cold water, alternating back and forth for a minute or so to help loosen the bond. In addition to the hot/cold water method, try giving the top of the container a few “love taps” along the edge. Finally, using some grippy dish-washing gloves can also help twist the lid and container apart. Hope this helps! Let us know. 🙂

Benjamin Nead –
I have a tiffin just like this one and it’s marvelous. One way to carry wet foods without leaking is to insert pieces of wax paper between the layers. Works like a charm.

Is the container air-tight?
(0) (0)
EarthHero –
Hey there, great question! The 3-Tier Tiffin is great for moist and dry foods, but does not have a silicone seal to keep in any liquids. However, this Splash Box is a great stainless steel and silicone option that can hold liquids, or we recommend using a sealable Stasher Bag or a stainless steel canister!

EarthHero –
Hey Jill,
Great question!
All of To-Go Ware’s Stainless Steel is 200, 14/1 grade, a grade specifically made for safe storage of food. 300 and 200 are the most popular, with 200 containing less nickel than 300.
Hope that helps!
