Large Organic Cotton Veggie Bag

Love these bags. Keeps my lettuce for at least a week, sometimes much longer!

I love the Earth Hero Organic Cotton Veggie Bags; I have purchased several already. It is definitely true that veggies stay fresher in these bags and that is something I can appreciate (less of throwing food away). It makes me feel good that I am doing something, however small, but I like to think that I am on a better path avoiding plastic as much as I can.

Such a good way to store produce- consider it a kitchen staple

I bought one to try it out and it worked wonderfully. So I bought all sizes. I have tried them with all kinds of greens like kale, mustards, parsley, cilantro, lettuce and also with carrots and scallions. They all stayed fresh. You do need to wet the bags every now and then if you are keeping them in the fridge for a few or more days. I let one dry out too much and the greens suffered a little. In summary: these are great!

Who here has ever tried to reuse those plastic little produce baggies (and forgotten them at home)? Who has tried almost every trick in the book to keep those asparagus stalks fresh? Or maybe you've just been at your wit's end for how to keep those wonderful leafy greens un-wilted? *raises hand on ALL points*

I bought one to see how it would actually work. This seems almost too simple to be effective.

I can tell you now, IT WORKS! This gave new life to the produce I had in my crisper, and I reflexively bought more in ALL sizes. I would note here that you need to be a bit careful which veggies you put together, as not all of them will play well with others. Fruits are a no-go in this baggie, but I actually just wrap them in a cotton dish cloth and leave them on my counter.

The best part? I'm bringing these with me to the grocery store as extra produce bags. They wash easily and seem incredibly well-made. The small was still large enough for asparagus and some carrots. The extra large is probably more for kale or bok choy, but you could easily store enough salad in there for a week.
