Plastic Free
No petroleum-based plastics are used in this product or its packaging. Plastic can be difficult to properly recycle, may never biodegrade, and is known to leech toxic chemicals into our bodies and environment. Single-use plastics also require extracting and processing of finite resources, so seeking out biodegradable, infinitely recyclable, or durable products and packaging is recommended whenever possible.

Handmade products are generally produced on a small scale, without the use of large energy consuming factories and production facilities. Buying handmade helps support art, communities, and people’s livelihoods.

Low Impact Dyes
Companies can adopt multiple practices to dye their textiles and products in a more environmentally safe way. Low impact dyes usually do not contain toxins such as heavy metals, plasticizers, fluorocarbons, and formaldehyde. Sustainable dyes can also be water or plant based, or use less water than conventional dyeing methods.

Question
Doreen Lee –
I purchased the Honeysticks beeswax crayons and they are coated with white
powdery substance. The photos on-line do not show that. What is it and is it safe?
My grandson is 17 months old. Purchased from Amazon. Thanks.

Hi, Doreen! The white powdery substance is called “blooming”, which is a natural process that happens to pure beeswax as the softer oils rise to the outside of the surface. It’s completely harmless and can be wiped off with a soft cloth. We hope your grandson loves these 😀
