Recent studies have shown that products like traditional shampoos can produce the same type of air pollution as traffic fumes. Bestowed Essentials' Natural Apple Cider Vinegar & Citrus Shampoo Bar is different–free of sulfates, preservatives, and other nasty additives. With apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, avocado oil, and essential oils from orange and lemon, this nourishing bar gently cleans the hair and scalp without stripping you of necessary healthy oils. Added sunflower oil and shea butter work to hydrate even the most damaged hair.
Cruelty Free
Cruelty Free is a certification process through PETA that labels products that are not tested on animals. All companies that are included on PETA's cruelty-free list have signed a statement verifying that they don't use ingredients or create finished products that help conduct or pay for any tests on animals.

We support small businesses and craftspeople who create each of their products with care. Handmade products are generally produced on a small scale, without the use of large energy consuming factories and production facilities. Buying handmade helps support art, communities, and people's livelihoods.

Made in the USA
This product was made in the United States. Buying locally made items helps to reduce harmful emissions that result from transportation during and after the production process. Purchasing products made in the United States also ensures that the items are produced in ways that meet strict safety and labor standards.

Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors. If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.

Recycled Packaging
This product is packaged or shipped in materials that contain recycled content.

Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

Lovely scent!

This shampoos bar smells lovely, and works well! The only reason I gave it four stars is because it seems to dry out my hair a little, so I need to make sure I use my conditioner bar after using this shampoo bar.

I have tried many shampoo

I have tried many shampoo bars. Honestly they all make my hair feel squeaky but once my hair was dry my waves looked soo bouncy and healthy. Would buy again

Unfortunately, there's nothing I liked about this shampoo, except maybe its size. I got it originally thinking that since it has cider vinegar in it already, it might save me having to do that step separately in the shower, like I do now. I use ACV between my current shampoo and conditioning bar to help add shine and prevent my hair from tangling like it would without it. Unfortunately, this shampoo bar left heavy oils in my hair, left it lackluster and very difficult to brush. This is less important, but it hardly smells like anything also. Maybe this bar would work for someone with thick, dry hair, who needs the extra conditioning, but they would still need to use ACV to prevent the knotting that will happen in their hair.

Just okay

I have shoulder length, fine, straight hair. This bar makes my hair feel squeaky clean, which means it's a little stripping. I always use a lot of conditioner after to rehydrate my hair. It's not horrible but i wouldn't buy it again

Bought for husband

He says “I feel like it doesn't clear my scalp as good as it should”. He does have severe seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) but using in combination with a medicated shampoo works well. He likes the smell and that it lathers well.
