Essential Black Mascara

I love the feel of this mascara! It can go on pretty thick unlike a lot of zero waste mascaras I have tried in the past. It also doesn't smear around my face throughout the day (unless I rub it or cry) so I don't have to worry about black eyes.

I love this mascara! It give a natural but full look and can be layered for a more dramatic look. It doesn't smudge on me, which I appreciate. Its a favorite of mine

This is an amazing product! Some of the best mascara I have ever used. I was a little worried when I saw that it was water resistant, but it comes off easily with some good soap and water. I'm tempted to think, especially with the eco-friendly nature of this product, that it is the BEST mascara on the market!

The mascara is good that it doesn't smear, I am still getting us to the brush. I feel I continue to use.

I tend to find mascara itchy by the end of the day and this was an exception! Happy to have no eye discomfort and it washes off easily at the end of the day.

I’ve been wearing this mascara for a few years now and I love that it is more naturally made and it is as good or better than any other mascara I have ever worn.

I have super sensitive eyes and this is the One and Only mascara that doesn’t irritate them. Thank you so much!

I appreciate this company’s mission and the fact that it does not smudge on my oily skin as much as other brands, but I will probably look for something else when done with my current tube. The formula just does not hold a curl and resets my lashes to stick-straight.

This mascara makes my lashes look very long and natural. It stays in place all day yet comes off easily when I wash my face. Will buy again!

It definitely is not waterproof at all but I still love it so much. It feels nice holding it, very volumizing and looks great. Will get again.

I usually dont wear mascara because it's messy but wanted to try this more sustainable option. It's decent after several coats and i love that clean up is easy. I do think it's in the pricier side though.

I'm loving this mascara! Definitely a good replacement to the more plastic tube ones I was using previously.

If so , this does the job nicely. I apply 3 times to get the level of lash i'd like. Easy to remove and gentle on my eyes.

I love how feathery my lashes look and feel when I use this mascara. I haven't had any issues with the product clumping on my eyelashes. This mascara definitely gives a natural look, so I would not recommend it for bold makeup looks. I am looking forward to a waterproof formula!

I was pleased by the dark color, thick coverage, and obviously the vegan and eco-friendly nature of the product.

Godo for a natural mascara- only complaint is the brush could be better but it isn't bad. Like many, this looks best with 2-3 layers.

I'm honestly upset this product is on the market. For starters, yes, the wand is plastic but what's even more terrible about it is that unless you're the size of a fairytale giant, it's practically useless. I can barely get the mascara on my lashes without smudging my lids because it's such a large impractical size. And the mascara itself is disappointing. If you have dark lashes, you won't notice a thing. I'm mad I tried it because now I'm dealing with the guilt of not wanting to use it. Of course, I am using it so I can eventually get a better mascara but I'm irritated with each application.

I was initially hesitant to purchase this mascara due to the numerous negative reviews; however, after a few weeks of indecisiveness, I got it. Luckily, I have not been disappointed thus far. I have naturally curled eyelashes, and I wear makeup very minimally, especially now with COVID-19, so this mascara gets the job done for me and is worth the investment.

I was excited to try another eco friendly Elate product. This one is not worth the price. It irritated my eyes and was hard to take off. I was really excited for this product since the design is so beautiful and the concept is amazing! It might work better for others but I don't think its worth the cost to find out.

I love this, but it definitely requires more than one application. I did three coats and got the effect I'm used to getting with non-eco-friendly options. If you don't mind putting a little extra effort into your make up routine, this is a great option!

I was so excited to try this but it's just not worth the price. I applied a few coats and it didn't really do anything. My lashes are darker, of course, but there is no lift or fullness.

It gives you a light coat and doesn't transfer to my under eyes. What I don't like is that it doesn't hold the shape of my lashes when I curl them ( I have naturally straight eyelashes :( )

I decided to choose this eco mascara because it was packaged sustainably but I was disappointed with my purchase. The mascara has an oily, clumpy texture which smears easily. I was also surprised that it contained a plastic wand; I thought that the container would be entirely made from sustainable resources such as bamboo.

My go to mascara was Loreal voluminous, but wanted something natural. Tried many. This stays on does not flake or smear

I wish Elate would sell the tube sans wand so that way we can cut down on packaging when repurchasing! but otherwise a good mascara, no complaints

I love that this product is more sustainable! It does sting my eyes a little bit when I sweat (I live in Southern California, so it gets hot often). Wish it were a little more gentle on the eyes, but all in all, great product.
