Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

Good

Works just as good as regular styling gels, smells amazing and I love the packaging. I haven’t noticed any flaking as another reviewer stated and my hair is a reddish brown. Will be my regular

not amazing for type 2b/2c hair

My hair is between type 2b and 2c (mixed greek and eastern european descent) and this gel puts it solidly in the 2b side of the spectrum. Innersense (I create hold) and Prose were my most recent gels before this one, and I'm leaning toward returning back to one of those instead of continuing with this. It doesn't make my hair frizzy or dry, but I mix it with a Prose curl defining cream and never use it on its own. I use the bowl method (in the shower, not with an actual bowl) and I need to use a lot of this product for it to hold through workouts. I have short hair (chin length) and the more I add, the better hold but the less curl definition I get as this product seems to weigh my hair down more than others.

Flaky

I like evrything about this gel such as smell, consistency, and hold. What brakes it is that if you move the hair you've applied the gel to it flakes! Perhaps a blonde can get away with it, but not a brunette like me. The flaking is bad.

Decent hold, very drying and flaky

I was excited to try this and it works decently on my curly hair, though I wish it could contain frizz better. It flakes a little and made my hair super dry and dull. After a few uses I had to DIY a moisture treatment to get my lustre back and stopped using it. Now since I still have most of a bottle I’m playing with mixing a drop in with my “free and clear” vanicream gel, which I also don’t love but treats my hair better than this does. One day I will find a natural and package-free option that works! I do love the scent though. Might be good if you have oilier hair.
