Nonprofit Spotlight: Sprout City Farms

Learn about our news nonprofit partner, Sprout City Farms, which builds educational urban farms to engage communities, strengthen neighborhood resiliency, and root farmers in the city.
As a values-based company rooted in sustainability, we know how important it is to practice intersectional environmental activism. That’s why we’re partnering with Sprout City Farms in August to champion food security and the importance of agricultural education in achieving a more sustainable planet.

Who is Sprout City Farms?

Sprout City Farms (SCF) is an agricultural nonprofit based out of Denver, Colorado (our neighbors!) with the mission to engage and strengthen communities to be more resilient, and to root farmers in the community. Not only does Sprout City Farms champion educational programs for youth and adults around food access and agricultural literacy, but they also support the distribution of products (over 10,000 lbs per year) with ½ going to support community food access.

How EarthHero is supporting.

From August 10-16, 2022, we’re donating $1 per order to support Sprout City Farms’ newest project, Jack’s Solar Farm located in Longmont, CO. This 3-acre plot of land groups together 7 different local partners including Colorado State University (CSU) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to research and develop sustainable agricultural and environmental practices.

Plus, starting Summer 2023, our team will begin volunteering at the Denver Green School Community Farm and Jack’s Solar Farm! Follow us on social to stay up-to-date on our office happenings.
