Who We Are

Hello, we are Emma, Malinda, Lily, and Juno (Lily’s dog)! Check out our bios on EarthHero’s “Meet the Team” page to learn more about us. We are graduate students at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Masters of the Environment Program, and we’re working with EarthHero this year to help create their very first impact report!

EarthHero has had a goal of publishing an impact report for quite some time, so we are honored to be able to help with this process. EarthHero’s goal is to be as transparent as possible with its customers, and this report will help with accountability.

What is an Impact Report?

Impact reports help companies take responsibility for their actions by disclosing their environmental and social impacts on the world. They also provide an opportunity to publicly share a company’s victories and opportunities for growth.

This month, we have been working on a materiality assessment. A materiality assessment is designed to help identify which environmental, social, and governance topics their stakeholders find important. Stakeholders are groups of people that a company finds essential for operations. For example, EarthHero finds its customers, employees, and vendors to be its top stakeholders.

To help determine which topics are material (that is, important), we are creating a survey for EarthHero employees and customers to find out what is important to them as sustainable consumers. This will help inform what we highlight and report on in the annual impact report.

What you can expect to hear about in the next month:

  • A materiality assessment and analysis of the data we’ve collected
  • Based on the data, we’ll refine what we’ll include in the impact report and begin building an outline

We can’t wait to keep you updated on our progress. Be sure to look out for an update post from us next month!

To help you get to know us better– here are our favorite EarthHero products!

Emma’s Pick!
LOVE this, it keeps me smelling fresh all day long, which is no small feat as a hot yoga teacher and student.

Lily’s Pick!
I am loyal to Pela cases. I love how they are made with compostable bioplastic elastomer and flax straw materials– I guess you could call that flax-tastic! Not to mention, I haven’t cracked my screen in years with these cases.

Malinda’s Pick!
I’ve been using this deodorant for over a year now and I LOVE it! Their adorable marketing/art is what drew me in at first. I’m a big fan of the grapefruit scent because it’s unique and keeps me smelling fresh throughout the whole day.

Juno’s Pick!
Juno loves this toy! It keeps her occupied around the office as she searches for the treats inside. Since dog toys can go to landfills quickly, her mom loves durable toys made of natural materials like this one.
