Did you know that when organic waste is left in plastic inside the landfill, it’s unable to decompose properly and generates methane, a greenhouse gas 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide? Even worse, hundreds of years later, when the plastic-bag around your organic waste does break down, it leaves behind tons of nasty microplastics, further polluting our waterways and ecosystems. Make the switch from trashy plastic bags to a compostable alternative with BioBag!
Made from GMO-Free crops, each BioBag product helps you reduce your use of single use, disposable plastics. From pet waste bags, to food storage solutions, to countertop compost bags, BioBag has a (compostable) solution.

They were a little smaller than expected, but they have held up so far to what I’ve given them! They are a little stretchy, which I tend to like because it’s easier to fit them into bins, and the peace of mind of the biodegradable nature of the bags is well worth it!

I usually have around one bag or 75% of a bag’s worth of landfill a week, and these work perfectly well. I haven’t had weight issues (though I do have significantly less waste than the average person might), and I use them for both my landfill and recycling bins. It is true that these are not as deep as a standard trash bin, but I find that to be a benefit since it pushes me to buy less items that would normally go to landfill. Would definitely recommend!!

I wish these bags performed better. I love that they are compostable/sustainable and really like the BioBag dog poop bags we have. These bags are not comparable to regular plastic kitchen bags. They are too short for a regular kitchen trash bin and break way too easily. These would be better for a large bedroom/bathroom trash bin.

My food waste gets pretty heavy and I’ve ripped these bags several times. Other than that I think they work well and I feel good using them.

I like the thickness of these but they don’t fit well in my trash can so always fall into it and don’t stay put. I end up using tape to keep it stuck to the sides and not falling in. Only recommend for smaller trash cans like 10 gallon? I will be using these for my bathroom trash instead!

Good alternative to plastic and non-biodegradable trash bags. I have a hard time tying them ,since to me the material is somewhat slick. However , I like to fill the bag to the brim so that’s probably why. Will be purchasing again.

Great company and I’m certain it’s a high test bag, but in our house the bags just couldn’t keep from ripping long enough to hold stuff. The ones we were able to unfold intact worked well!

I have just used one bag so far. We still had some new plastic (yuck) bags I am using up. I do not have a lot of garbage usually one bag a week for my husband and myself. With this is mind the kitchen bag worked out great. I would not put anything heavy in there as I imagine it would break the bag but for our household it’s wonderful.

I love that these are compostable, but they’re not strong enough for me. They rip pretty easily so I find myself going through more trash bags than when I use typical bags. Maybe I bought the wrong size tho idk

These are very good for the kitchen garbage can. They used to be somewhat erratic as to sizing, and were not really big enough, but lately it seems they are fine. They are strong enough and thick enough to last for the week until garbage pickup day. While I know it will still take a long time to decompose in a trash dump, at least they are not plastic.

Question
Francine –
Are they transparent?

Hi Francine! These bags are light green in color and relatively sheer throughout. Not transparent, though!

It makes me feel so good to put one of these bags into our trash bin each week, knowing that it will decompose. We don’t accumulate a lot of trash during the week and try to limit ourselves to just one or two bags. These bags are big enough for our pull out kitchen garbage can, and strong enough to last until very full!
