Modern leggings for the modern woman. The Moss High-Rise Compressive Legging from Girlfriend Collective is the legging that started it all – made from RPET fabric from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles with a unique four-way stretch and compressive fabric that's perfect for high-impact workouts. These leggings are manufactured using fewer raw materials and water and produce less CO2 emissions than conventional athleisure. These are full length with a 28.5-inch leg, an 11-inch rise, and feature no-sheer fabric - perfect for worry-free workouts. Plus, the fabric is OEKO-TEX certified for quality, and ethically and responsibly made in fair labor factories!
BPA Free
Products that are labeled as BPA free do not contain Bisphenol A, a chemical commonly found in plastic products. Studies on BPA exposure have shown that high levels of BPA could lead to hormone disruption, effects on behavior and brain function, reproductive problems, breast cancer, heart disease, infertility, and more.

Low Impact Dyes or Inks
Low impact dyes and inks can include vegetable, soy, or water-based alternatives and generally do not contain toxins such as heavy metals, plasticizers, flurocarbons, and fomaldehyde. They typically also use less water than conventional dyes and inks.

Recycled Content
Recycling is the process of taking an otherwise-discarded item or material and cleaning, sorting, and breaking it down into its basic form (such as fibers or pellets). This material is then used to produce new items. Recycling keeps useful materials from being discarded in landfills, prevents resource extraction due to the creation of new materials, and provides a new life for used items. Recycling can utilize both pre-consumer waste (materials left over from production) or post-consumer materials (used clothing, empty water bottles, etc).

Recycled Packaging
This product is packaged or shipped in materials that contain recycled content.

Recycled PET Fabric
Recycling is the process of taking an otherwise-discarded item or material and cleaning, sorting, and breaking it down into its basic form (such as fibers or pellets). This material is then used to produce new items. Recycling keeps useful materials from being discarded in landfills, prevents resource extraction due to the creation of new materials, and provides a new life for used items. Recycling can utilize both pre-consumer waste (materials left over from production) or post-consumer materials (used clothing, empty water bottles, etc). Recycled PET utilizes salvaged post-industrial PET scraps and post-consumer products such as water bottles and other plastic containers. These plastics are dried, crushed, and spun into yarn in order to create recycled PET fabric, or polyester. By providing a use for recycled plastics, companies encourage recycling programs worldwide, while adding new value to discarded items. Currently, over half of virgin PET production goes towards making textiles, so by utilizing recycled PET, post-consumer materials are both diverting waste while taking the place of raw materials. This helps to reduce the demand for the extraction of oil, as well as energy used to produce new synthetic fibers.

They stay up and are so comfortable!

I love the moss color and this line of GC's leggings. The high-rise aspect is both really cute and also makes me feel like I don't have to constantly be pulling them up all the time- the good elasticity of the fabric helps hold it in place, too.

You do see underwear lines with these, but that seems pretty standard for leggings so I wasn't surprised. They keep me pretty warm and I am really glad that I treated myself to trying these out!

Material is Super Thin

I should start by saying that I'm pretty sure I got the olive leggings instead of the moss leggings I ordered (the leggings I got were the exact same color as the olive bicycle shorts I ordered). Perhaps the moss color would wear slightly differently than the olive?

I wanted to love these shorts so badly. I love the business motto and sustainability of Girlfriend Collective. When I took them out of the packaging, my first thought was, "OMG these are soft," but I also noticed how thin the material seemed. The bicycle shorts I ordered were the exact same thin material. That made me trepidatious. I was not expecting that with compressive leggings. When I put the leggings on, my concerns were confirmed: you could see every little insecurity I have about my lower half. While they weren't as *ahem* revealing in the front as the bicycle shorts were, there is no way you could wear underwear with these as you would even see thong lines, and every little imperfection in my body was on display. There was also weird bunching around my knees and ankles. If the material had been more substantive, that would not have been an issue, but it is worth noting.

I will say, they were SUPER comfy and seemed like they would stay put while still having stretch. They also hit me at a great spot (perfect rise for high rise leggings) If I had gotten these in black or the moss color I ordered (like I said, pretty sure I received olive leggings and not moss leggings) . . . maybe the thinness of the material wouldn't have been as much of an issue. And if the material were thicker, I would be keeping these and rating them a 5. But with that fabric - I would never feel comfortable enough to wear these around anyone else. I'm really disappointed that these didn't work out for me as so many other people seem to love Girlfriend Collective leggings. I would still recommend at least trying them. Maybe others don't mind or don't notice seeing so much on display. Or it could be that I always buy thicker leggings?

Perfect leggings!

I absolutely love these leggings. They are super soft, super comfy. I'm always weary when leggings are advertised as "high-rise" because I'm a little curvier and things typically don't even get close to my belly button. Not the case with these leggings! In fact, they completely cover my belly button! Not only that, but they do not become transparent when you bend over and do not fall down when you run. All around great leggings.

Love these leggings!

Becki from EarthHero here - I was SO excited when we brought Girlfriend Collective into stock! I bought these and the Paloma bra and wore them to a yoga class that night. The fit is fantastic! They don't show sweat, don't stretch out after one workout, and don't fall down while running/jumping. I normally wouldn't wear just a bra/legging combo to a class - but these are so compressive and high waisted that I wore them with just the Paloma bra and felt super covered and comfortable! Can't wait to buy them in more colors!
