4Ocean
When friends and surf buddies, Alex and Andrew, took a trip to Bali they were immediately introduced to the harsh reality of ocean plastics. Traveling through the island country, the two happened upon a fishing village and learned just how much plastic pollution was affecting both the marine ecosystems and the people who depend on it.
After watching village fishermen struggle to push their boats ashore through mounds of plastic waste, they thought — could they use their nets to catch plastic instead of fish? The two realized they needed a better solution, one that could clean up pollution without keeping locals from their livelihoods.
And so, 4Ocean was born. With each bracelet sale, 4Ocean is able to fund the removal of 1 pound of trash from the oceans and coastlines.

Buy a Bracelet, Pull a Pound
Alex and Andrew have designed their business as a force for good. Within the first two years of business, 4Ocean has already removed 2,251,794 pounds of trash from oceans and coastlines, and they're nowhere near stopping!
They also employ over 150 people, hosting cleanups across the world. By focusing on cleanups both above and below water, 4Ocean is taking marine health into their own hands‚ literally. Through these cleanups, 4Ocean works to educate local communities, businesses, and governments on the importance of tackling plastic pollution and the effects it can have on our planet. They hope that by giving plastic recover a new meaning, and creating new demand for recycled plastics, they can shift the way the world thinks about recycling and trash removal.
Each month, 4Ocean uses their platform to support a new marine cause. By partnering with organizations that focus on each cause, they're able to support everything from manatee habitat protection and sea turtle conservation, to promoting carbon offsets to protect sea ice and polar bears.
4Ocean is also launching their own Ocean Plastics Recovery Campaign. With their very own Recovery Vessel, Panga boats, and team of 4Ocean employees, they will be able to set barricades at river-mouths, where 90% of plastics enter the ocean. Through these efforts, they're not only hoping to remove plastic from the ocean, but stop it from getting there in the first place.
