As co-founders Lynn Julian's and Chance Claxton's families grew, they knew they needed to find a solution to all the single-use lunch baggies, drink cartons, and plastic containers leaving their homes. With this goal in mind, they created their first waste-free lunch kit and in 2008, U Konserve was born. Beyond just creating a wide range of durable, long-lasting products, they aimed to offer reusable and innovative solutions that could change the behavior of consumers to help the planet. That same goal still drives U Konserve's mission today‚ inspiring them to never stop thinking how they can create a unique low-impact solution to the single-use problem.

As a mission-driven company, U Konserve depends on environmental health to be their guide, and contributes to our planet's health by giving a portion of their profits back to our Earth through 1% for the Planet. U Konserve believes that small changes and consistent, daily actions can have a huge impact on the global movement to help our planet and that organizations like themselves support the cause to make real change happen. That's why they've joined more than 1,200 environmentally conscious companies and brands as part of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of their total annual profits to organizations that support the health of our Earth in categories like water, energy, reforestation, and more.
Several years ago, U Konserve received a grant from Eileen Fisher for Women Entrepreneurs, which helped grow their business immensely. Today, they pay it forward by giving back to various organizations that support their mission, including Healthy Child Healthy World, 5 Gyres, Grades of Green and Turning Green. By giving back to charities that give back to the Earth, they further the cycle of giving and get a little closer to their end goal of a happy, healthy planet!
