Let's talk about self care! Sometimes we get so caught up in our hectic lives that we forget to look out for our own well-being. Self care isn't selfish, in fact‚ it's essential to take care of ourselves, relax, and recharge. Allowing time to take care of ourselves isn't superfluous, it's a necessary part of a healthy, balanced life! Rooted Woman is a Black-owned, woman-owned brand that was created with the purpose of inspiring women to value self-care and personal wellbeing.
During her time as a workaholic, Rooted Woman founder India Williams began to realize that in her pursuit of her professional success, her own self-care was put on the back burner. After Williams' health took a turn, she stepped back to reevaluate her priorities. In 2015, she cleared her schedule and took a six-month journey to pursue personal wellness. During this time, Williams reconnected with herself regaining her health and finding a renewed life purpose. She was inspired to help overworked women like herself reimagine self-care as a fundamental necessity, rather than a time-waster that can be shrugged off. In her own self-care journey, Williams noticed that one of the common ways that professional women express themselves in a work environment is through their nails. She decided to make this a centerpiece of her self-care initiative, creating a line of nail polish that prioritizes health above all else.

Ethical, Intentional, Radical
India Williams founded Rooted Woman based on four values that drive the brand's mission: love, wellness, sisterhood, and freedom. Here are these values described in the words of the founder:
Love: We focus on self-love because we believe it determines the ways in which we impact people and navigate situations and experiences.
Wellness: We prioritize our mental, physical and spiritual health by being intentional about the products we use, our diets and habits.
Sisterhood: We are committed to creating safe spaces for women to share, relate and grow.
Freedom: We believe that self-care looks different for everyone and support practices that benefit a sound mind, body, and soul.
Rooted Woman aims to incorporate ethical, intentional, and radical action into everything they do. The brand prioritizes these intentions through their environmental and personal health commitments. All of their products are hand poured in small batches to ensure quality and authenticity that lives up to the brand's high standards. The gorgeous line of nail polish and nail care products are made without the ten toxic ingredients found in traditional nail polish: Toluene, Dibutyl, Phthlate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Xylene, Ethyl Tosylamide, Acetone and Parabens. Instead of these toxins, Rooted Woman products are created with safer alternatives and, whenever possible, organic ingredients. Plus, these small batches are all made in the USA, reducing the need for preservatives and cutting down on travel miles.
In addition to prioritizing customer health and wellbeing, Rooted Woman extends this ethical commitment throughout their supply chain and product testing. The brand sources all mica through a child labor free supplier. In addition, they ensure that each product is vegan, and never tested on animals.
Finally, these products are shipped to you in recyclable packaging that's made from recycled content. Plus, Rooted Woman also distributes their products to EarthHero through Everlasting Love Fulfillment, the only Black woman-owned fulfillment center in the country!
