Meliora

Can you name 5 of the ingredients in your cleaning products? Neither could Kate, who co-founded Meliora with her husband Mike in 2013. She was curious about the ingredients in her cleaning products but realized they weren't even listed. After discovering there were no laws in place that required cleaning companies to disclose their ingredients, she knew something had to be done. Kate began experimenting with simple, safe ingredients to create soaps and detergents. After her laundry powder successfully cleaned a load of Mike's grimey flag-football clothes, they both knew they had something worth sharing! Meliora means better in Latin, and better is what their products are made to be.

Meliora means Better

Cleaning products from Meliora are all about full-disclosure, and their ingredients are listed on the front of the label. They'll only incorporate an ingredient into the mix if it fits all of their Big Three Criteria: It Works, it's People Friendly, it's Planet Friendly. They're conscious about choosing ingredients that are effective and safe for the home, while causing no trouble for Mother Earth after the chores are said and done. On top of that, every Meliora product is produced in their own factory in Chicago, where they pay their workers living wages and carefully monitor the impact of their products' production, eliminating any unnecessary waste. Meliora partners with 1% for the Planet, donating a total of 2% of total sales to non-profits pioneering a healthier future. Their partner of choice is Women's Voices for the Earth, supporting both sustainability and bad**s female-led initiatives. Women's Voices for the Earth is run by women to amplify their voices and advocate for change in the way products are produced. Meliora also boasts the MADE SAFE‚ìá seal and Leaping Bunny on all products, ensuring that no product or ingredients build up on our bodies, in the environment, are toxic for the oceans, or are tested on animals.
