Knickey

When it comes to the clothing we put on our bodies, it can be difficult (if not impossible!) to know exactly what it is we're wearing, where it comes from, or who made it. For the items we put closest to our bodies, these factors feel all the more important. Enter Knickey: a women-owned underwear brand that's deeply committed to delivering high-quality, affordable, and truly eco-friendly, and ethically made intimates.

While ethics and environmentalism within the fashion industry often leave much to be desired, Knickey co-founders, Cayla O'Connell Davis, and Lauren Sagadore, have made it their mission to enact supply-chain transparency and reconnect consumers to their clothing. This powerful pair met while completing Master's Degrees at Parsons The New School for Design in Fashion Studies. Cayla is an Accredited Green Professional (SFC) who's held high-level positions in sustainability, design, and retail at industry-shaping companies. Lauren's past work includes e-commerce logistics, fashion resale, and project management for tech startups. Their combined skills and passion for creating sustainable, safe basics have ultimately brought about one of the most forward-thinking underwear brands to date.

Organic Undies for Everyday

Knickey is a women-owned underwear brand that's deeply committed to delivering high-quality, affordable, and truly eco-friendly, and ethically made intimates. Talk about leveling up the ethical and eco-fashion movement! From farm to factory, Knickey is involved with each step of the manufacturing process. All cotton is grown on an organic farm in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and then passed onto an organic ginner in Erode, Tamil Nadu, India. From there, fibers are sent to an organic spinner in Tirupur (catching onto the ‘organic' theme, here?) and then thoughtfully sewn at a Fair Trade Factory, also located in Tirupur. The undies are dyed and finished with Oeko-Tex Certified materials and then shipped to the Knickey HQ in New York City! In addition to Knickey's care and consideration within their supply chain, their sustainable packaging is thoughtfully designed to be reused - specifically, so you can send back old underwear when you get your new and improved. Knickey's unique recycling program aims to improve system circularity for an otherwise disposable product, turning tired and worn-out undies into insulation and preventing them from ending up in the landfill!
