Graf Lantz
When it comes to decorating a home, it can be difficult to find pieces that combine sustainable materials with true functionality. Add a preference for designs that are elegant and timeless and it is almost impossible! Home accessories need to withstand everyday use while also offering a fun, colorful, and modern touch to the space. If you take all of these elements and wrap them together, you get Graf Lantz!
Graf Lantz came together when two opposing lifestyles collided. Holger Graf was working on a PhD in structural engineering and Daniel Lantz was living in Japan taking in all the adventure and culture he could get his hands on. With Holger's German heritage and Daniel's love for Japanese minimalism, they began designing elevated and thoughtful homeware accessories. Starting with one of the oldest, most durable, and sustainable fabrics available, Merino wool felt, Graf Lantz makes mindful designs that combine aesthetics from the East and West.
Graf Lantz takes simple, sophisticated shapes and merges them with functional, sustainable materials, bold colors and natural textures to create timeless and beautiful home accessories.
They are always working to evolve and improve and believe true sustainability begins with the choices we make each and every day.

Elevate your Everyday
To Graf Lantz, quality means more than just designing a functional, luxury piece of decor. It also means weaving sustainability into every step of their process. From the material and where it is sourced to how it is made and how the people making it are treated, Graf Lantz makes sure nothing is overlooked and are always evolving to be better.
Graf Lantz wants to create products that are not only stylish but are built to last. They decided on wool felt as their main material, and not just any wool, but Merino wool felt. Wool felt has been a classic fabric used for centuries (and for good reason!) but it is Merino wool felt that has the added bonus of toughness and sustainability. Naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial, the wool fibers are coated with a natural thin waxy layer that inhibits the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria. As a powerful hydrophilic fiber, Merino wool felt is also able to absorb moisture while remaining dry to the touch and maintaining form and color. These characteristics allow the felt pieces from Graf Lantz to maintain freshness and form after repeated use. The wool felt is dyed with OEKO-TEX certified natural dyes making sure they are non-toxic and free from harmful chemicals. Sourcing their wool from mulesing-free farms in New Zealand, South Africa, South America, and Europe, ensures the fair treatment of the sheep (because a happy sheep means better wool!)
Located in Los Angeles, California, the Graf Lantz team works with as many local manufacturers as they can to keep production as close to home as they can. The Merino wool felt is exclusively produced by two factories in Bavaria, where they have been perfecting wool felt for over 100 years. Working closely with all the artisans allows them to keep a close eye on the quality as well as ensure the people designing and making each piece have safe working conditions and fair wages.
Graf Lantz is committed to sustainability by prioritizing a fair-trade business model and also sourcing only the highest quality materials they can find.
