Trash into treasure
Each bag, tote, and pack from GOT BAG carries the same robust sustainability story. The chain starts with a network of 2,000 fishermen who collect ocean plastic as bycatch off the coast of Java, Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the world's largest hubs of discarded plastic and due to poor waste management infrastructure, much of this plastic ends up in oceans and other waterways. GOT BAG has interrupted the scene by creating a supply chain for recovered trash and today, they help collect up to 50 tons of waste a month! For any materials that cannot be turned into the fibers needed for their goods, GOT BAG ensures they are directed to the correct recycling chain so that they may be properly upcycled.
Back on shore, the waste is sorted and cleaned and the PET components are pressed into pellets and shipped to China. There they are spun into strong fibers and stitched into bags and packs of all shapes, sizes, and functions.
Finally, while GOT BAGS are incredibly durable and built to withstand daily commutes, outdoor adventures, and long travel days, if a pack ever need some R&R, GOT BAG is there to repair! Not only does this mentality help extend the longevity of goods, but it also discourages societal themes of overconsumption and a throw-away culture.
