Eco-Bags
ECOBAGS began in 1989 on the principle of reduce, reuse, recycle. With a dream of a better world in mind, they showed up at the 1990 Sixth Avenue Earth Day Celebration in NYC with one product–their signature string bag. When it sold out in 4 hours, they knew they were onto something big.
Since then, ECOBAGS has continued to provide reusable options for environmentally conscious shoppers worldwide. They've watched consumers get more and more knowledgeable about their impacts on the planet, and work hard to create solutions for many of life's single use issues. From tote bags, to produce bags, to nut-milk sacks and customizable options, ECOBAGS has changed what it means to shop.

ECOBAGS puts sustainability first in all aspects of production. They've always been ahead of the game in terms of sourcing the materials for each bag with the planet in mind. They utilize GOTS Certified Organic Cotton, as well as post-industrial recycled fibers that are SA-8000 certified. On top of that, they use dyes that are azo free, as well as non-toxic screen printing methods. They've even pledged to remove all conventional fibers from their product line and replace them with organic or recycled counterparts.
In addition to the materials used, ECOBAGS ensures each product is created in a socially responsible environment. Their partners in India offer competitive compensation, extensive health coverage, pension plans, retirement programs, vacations and holidays, and overall exceed local labor requirements. Their CEO and Founder, Sharon Rowe, can vouch for it‚ as she travels to India regularly to meet with the ECOBAGS family.
Don't believe them? Take B Lab's word for it! ECOBAGS is also a certified B Corp, meaning they meet strict third-party standards for social and environmental responsibility. They've even been voted into B Corp's Best for the World list since 2012!
