A family-owned and run business that now offers its products across 15 countries, Boody got its humble start in beautiful Australia. Two best friends, David Greeblo and Neil Midalia, found inspiration in their combined experiences within the apparel and pharmaceutical industries. Their knowledge of health and wellness coupled with their passion for protecting the planet brought forth a clothing company focused on comfort and sustainability. These friends created their company based on their personal values and, although the brand has blossomed into an international seller, those values are still deeply set into the core of the business. The founders put transparency at the heart of the Boody business model because they believe that consumers have a right to know the full story behind their purchases. In their own words, the Boody objective is about maximizing positive outputs and minimizing negative ones throughout the entire supply chain.

Good for you and our planet
Boody's bamboo yarn material is a revolutionary step for comfort, versatility, and most importantly, sustainability. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world and can grow to over 100 feet tall in just a matter of weeks. Moreover, bamboo can be harvested without damage to the soil or the need to be replanted. It also grows densely, reducing the amount of land space needed for harvesting, and comes equipped with its own built-in natural pest and fungi resistance called bamboo-Kun. Bamboo can even help reduce atmospheric carbon levels due to its incredible carbon-sequestration capabilities; an acre of bamboo has the capacity to absorb 150 tons of CO2 annually while a young forest can only absorb around 45 tons. With all of these amazing features, it's a surprise that we don't employ bamboo in everything! Well, at least not yet.
In addition to its innovative use of bamboo, Boody has minimized waste throughout its entire business model, adopting a closed-loop system that recycles all water used in the manufacturing process. Their commitment to the wellbeing of their customers, employees, and the planet is on display through Boody's numerous green certifications. Their bamboo is certified organic by EcoCert and OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association). And all of their products have the ‘confidence in textiles' label from OKEO-TEX, meaning that they have been proven to contain no harmful chemicals and are safe for even the most sensitive of skin. PETA has certified Boody's products as vegan, as no animals are used or harmed in the production process; and don't you worry, no pandas are at a loss for food either! The bamboo used for Boody products is different from the bamboo that pandas eat. Boody products also go through rigorous SGS testing to ensure quality and the company is approved by WRAP, which ensures that all products are made humanely with safe working conditions, fair compensation, and an emphasis on worker's rights and freedoms.
