Beauty Without the Waste. Axiology was born in a tiny kitchen in 2013, when founder Ericka discovered that her makeup had been tested on animals — and decided to do something about it. What started as a DIY vegan lipstick experiment became a fully plastic-free, cruelty-free, palm oil-free beauty brand carried by retailers around the world. Every Axiology product is formulated with ethically sourced vegan oils, butters, and antioxidants — and packaged in boxes made from island trash by a women’s cooperative in Bali. Because beautiful makeup shouldn’t cost the planet.

The beauty industry produces 120 billion units of packaging waste every single year. Ericka Rodriguez, founder of Axiology, decided she wasn’t going to be part of the problem.
It started in 2013 with a YouTube tutorial and a library book. After learning her makeup was tested on animals, Ericka began making her own vegan lipsticks at home — experimenting with plant-based ingredients until she landed on a smooth, buttery, 10-ingredient formula that was fully vegan, cruelty-free, and clean. She launched on Etsy with 6 shades, and Axiology quickly caught the attention of retailers worldwide, including Credo Beauty.
But Ericka wasn’t done. In 2022, she went further — ditching all plastic packaging entirely. Today, every Axiology product is 100% plastic-free. Their iconic Lip-to-Lid Balmies are tubeless, multi-use crayons for eyes, lips, and cheeks, made with just 9–10 ethically sourced ingredients: nourishing oils, butters, and antioxidants. Their serums harness the power of Reishi mushrooms, Vitamin C, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, and cranberry oil. And their Fungdation foundation is enriched with Reishi and snow mushroom extracts for lightweight, skin-loving coverage.
All of Axiology’s packaging is made from paper trash collected in Bali by a women’s cooperative that provides fair wages and stable work while cleaning up the island’s streets and beaches. It’s 100% recyclable, compostable, and beautiful.
