Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive damage, hormonal imbalances, infertility, mood changes, metabolism changes, and more.

Stream2Sea

Fact: Over 6,000 TONS of skin care products enter coral reefs from tourist activities alone. And that's not counting the products that enter our rivers, lakes and streams through runoff, sewage, and more. Stream2Sea knows that what we put into our water matters, which is why they've formulated their products without benzophenones, oxybenzones, octinoxate, or parabens, ensuring the highest quality sunscreen for you‚ without damaging sensitive marine life. Plus, there's no nanoparticles, fragrances, phthalates, aerosols, or other yucky additives that they've found don't benefit our reefs or bodies. Not only is Stream2Sea great for the reefs, but it's a sunscreen that truly works to stop sunburns. All of their sunscreens exceed the FDA's rating for 80-minute water resistance, and don't run into your eyes (or the ocean) if you sweat or swim. Any sunscreen residue that may come off in the waters is 100% biodegradable in both saltwater and freshwater, as well as non-toxic for fish and coral. As a vegan and mineral based sunscreen, Stream2Sea sunscreens actually reflect the sun's harmful rays, instead of absorb them, and are gentle enough to be used on babies and children. With their 100% recyclable tubes made from sugarcane resins, they have completely eliminated harmful plastics from their production, and use eco-friendly inks and recycled paper products for any brochures, cartons, or other documents.

Does what it says it will

I've been using this mostly as a shampoo, as it didn't suds enough with my sisal washcloth (would probably work better with a different loofah or something. As a shampoo, I've been happy with it. I have normal, short straight hair and this product leaves my hair feeling better (less dry) than bar shampoos, without requiring conditioner. It doesn't do anything for dandruff, but neither do any of the bar shampoos I've tried so far (including Ethique's scalp healing shampoo).

Cleans--but not a good shampoo

I really wanted to love this ocean-friendly product and would totally buy a soap bar if they sell them, but it does not work as a 3-in-1 or even a 2-in-1. The smell is fabulous as is the sustainability, and it cleans your skin. I've tried multiple times to use this as a shampoo + conditioner; sadly, it leaves the hair oily and not clean-feeling after washing. No, I was not expecting a lather going in, or even great conditioning, but at least basic scalp cleaning. Stream2Sea's sunscreen, on the other hand, is fabulous!
