Women Owned
This brand is owned by a majority of women. This includes everything from a small one-woman shop to a larger company where more than 51% of women make up the ownership team.

Charitable
This company donates a portion of their time or profits to charitable efforts in their community or abroad.

Cruelty Free
Cruelty Free is a certification process through PETA that labels products that are not tested on animals. All companies that are included on PETA's cruelty-free list have signed a statement verifying that they don't use ingredients or create finished products that help conduct or pay for any tests on animals.

Made in the USA
This product was made in the United States. Buying locally made items helps to reduce harmful emissions that result from transportation during and after the production process. Purchasing products made in the United States also ensures that the items are produced in ways that meet strict safety and labor standards.

Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors. If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.

Phthalate Free
Phthalates are found in toys, electronics, personal care products, plastic wraps, containers, and more. These petroleum based chemicals help soften plastics, and bind fragrances to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other personal care products. Phthalates are are not chemically bound, meaning they can easily get released into the air, water, or your body, just by using the products as intended. Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive damage, hormonal imbalances, infertility, mood changes, metabolism changes, and more.

Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

Overpriced for what it is

Purchased this as a plastic-free alternative but didn't love it. It's very overpriced for the size. I'm usually willing to pay a little more for an eco-friendly option but this is WAY more. I'm also not personally a fan of the "spritz" method of a toner and prefer using a cotton pad. If you're that way too, do not purchase this option.

Hi Julia, we are bummed to hear that you didn't enjoy the form factor of this toner as much as you had hoped. We have a few slightly lower price point options - one in a glass bottle and one in an aluminum bottle - that may work better for you. You can spritz onto a cotton round or unscrew the cap and apply that way if you prefer!

A Refreshing and Healing Addition to Your Everyday Skincare Routine

I started by sampling this product and totally fell in love. Other toners have stripped my skin and left it feeling dry and itchy. This one smells like cucumber and has never irritated my skin or stripped it of its moisture. It creates the perfect base for any of your serums and moisturizing products. It has definitely become an integral part of my every day skincare routine!

On top of the quality of the product itself, this company is just fantastic. The founder, Allison, handwrites thank you notes on each package she sends out, and she is so sweet and thoughtful about responding to customer inquiries and support requests! I've personally conversed with her and it's been a delight.

Earth Hero hasn't yet updated her listings to reflect this, but she's taken her low waste mission even further by switching to Mylar packets for her refills of full-size products, which reduce the weight of products for shipping, reduce emissions and take much less energy and water to produce than other material mediums. The glass bottles you get with your first order are elegant and high quality, making them a total "forever" piece in your skincare line! Don't miss the chance to support this incredible brand!
