It's here – our favorite time of the year! It's the time we get to share incredible strides and successes of the previous year and how YOU helped us get here.
So... what happened in 2022?
🤩 Reached $100,000+ in giving to date!
🌎 We worked with 14 nonprofit partners (7 of them were new to EarthHero!)
🌲 We've planted 108,593 trees to date, through our partnership with Eden Reforestation AND leveled up to Sapling Partners for our continued engagement
🌈 We supported Brave Trails' June summer camp, where LGBTQ youth from around the world were able to develop their leadership and community, and have fun too!
🌊 We cleaned up 2,526 pounds of plastic from our oceans and waterways through our partnership with Ocean Blue Projects
🥾 We volunteered 34 hours with Boulder Open Space Conservancy
📊 Committed to science-aligned reductions targets, effectively working to cut our 2021 carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 to limit climate warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius
🍃 Launched a new website & re-branded in August! Plus, we started offering Subscriptions and implemented a Rewards Program so you can save and earn even more!
💪🏼 We re-focused our 5-step Sourcing Methodology to include 'Ownership & Representation' and 'Company Responsibility' in an effort to showcase the importance of community & social responsibility to EarthHero
🎉 Included a 'Shop By Values' shopping feature to make it easier for customers to shop in a way that matters most, including shopping Women-Owned, Black-Owned, and Plastic Free brands & products.
🛍 Welcomed many new brands, including Dirty Labs, Flying Bird Botanicals, and Sunski – check out all brands here!
🧦 Onboarded 500+ new products to our marketplace!!!
☀️ We moved to our new office & warehouse in Louisville, Colorado which is up to 80% solar-powered (yay!)
👏🏼 Welcomed new team members, including Maureen (our motivated Product Director), Russ (our people-centric Community Experience Lead) and Gabe & Travis (our stellar Warehouse Associates). Learn more about them on our Meet the Team page!
🍎 We composted 1,180 pounds of office food waste & packaging (think potato-based packing peanuts) through our partnership with Eco-Cycle
♻️ We recycled 11,146 pounds of hard-to-recycle materials (including bubble wrap, foam, and soft plastics) with Eco-Cycle CHaRM
🥨 Starting sourcing snacks locally, from our neighborhood zero waste shop, Nude Foods, in Boulder
⚖️ Published our Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I) Statement and page on our website, including department-specific goals

For this report, we worked alongside a Capstone Team from CU Boulder's Masters of the Environment Program (thank you Emma, Lily, and Malinda) written in reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. While this is our first year reporting, our goal is to publish an impact report annually to showcase the previous years' accomplishments as well as share cumulative achievements.
