Nonprofit Spotlight: Boulder Open Space Conservancy (BOSC)

Learn about our newest nonprofit partner, Boulder Open Space Conservancy (BOSC).

As we have continued to grow tremendously at EarthHero (we went from 4 employees in 2018 to over 20 today!), and as we continue to learn more about what social & environmental responsibility looks like, we come again and again at the request and desire to engage with our local community.

As some of you know, we’re based in Louisville, Colorado which is nestled between Boulder and Denver. We’ve been making great strides in community engagement, from tabling at local events to supporting our student interns at the University of Colorado Boulder, and now volunteering. One of our commitments with 1% for the Planet and B Corp is maximizing paid volunteer opportunities for our staff – here we go!

Who is BOSC?

The Boulder Open Space Conservancy (BOSC) is the non-profit arm of the City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) department. It was established in 2017 in an effort to preserve Boulder’s natural legacy of beautiful communal spaces like parks for all to enjoy present and future.

As of today, Boulder has preserved the largest per capita open space in the country at 45,000 acres and 148 miles of trails within the city. To maintain these spaces, BOSC welcomes donations, volunteering, and other support to organize trail-building and educational events around the city.

EarthHero’s Impact

From July 12-19, 2022, we are donating 10% of every order to BOSC’s Mount Sanitas Restoration Project! No need to use a code, and yes it applies to each and every order sitewide! Learn more about the project we’re supporting, the Mount Sanitas Restoration Project, here.

Moreover, this July and August, our team will be volunteering for BOSC through their trail-building restoration. We know our team will have a blast working together and learning more about our beautiful community! Stay tuned on Instagram to see updates and check out our blog when it comes out here in the next few days.
