One or two? It's up to you! The Compact 2-Tier Stainless Steel Tiffin from To-Go Ware is a nifty lunchbox system from India that lets you travel comfortably with both hot and cold food, with a lid that doubles as a plate. It's stainless steel construction with fold down handle is lightweight, making it easy to carry and clean, but hard to live without. The self-latching top container lets you use your tiffin solo for little snacks, or as a dynamic duo. Just pack it, stack it, and go!
Question

How many hours does the food stay warm?

Hi Gaby! This is a great question. While stainless steel does hold heat, these tiffins are not designed to keep foods hot/cold and warm food will begin to cool within an hour or so. For an insulated option, we’re loving the Klean Kanteen food canister and thermos!

I got this for transporting snacks and meals for myself and my 2 year old. I wanted something sturdy and lighter than glass. This fits the bill. It’s honestly larger than I expected, but that works out just fine. For what I’ve learned so far: the thing is LOUD. If you’re going to be eating in an area where you want to be quieter (like I did, with a meeting I was in where I had to bring my food in), definitely use some bamboo or wood utensils to avoid clanging. And if you just open everything slowly, it’s fine. The little latches are always attached, so you just have to be mindful of bumping it and creating extra noise. The lower container closes by having the upper container sit down inside of it, so don’t overpack the bottom if you don’t want food all over the bottom of the top part when you take it apart. I like to roll up a bamboo spoon in a cloth napkin and just stick it through the handle, then carry it that way and it’s so easy. Really love this little thing!

Question
Evan L –
Are these microwave safe??

EarthHero –
Hi, Evan! These tiffins are not microwave-safe- as with all metals and stainless steel, these materials can damage your microwave and become a hazard. We love Frego and Stasher for microwave-safe food storage options!
