Step into sustainability with the Women's Alex Redwood Hemp Shoes from Rackle! Made from water-resistant, UV-resistant, and durable hemp fabric with biodegradable foam raised ribbed arches, these ultra-light sneakers give you everything you need in a shoe – and nothing you don't. Most shoe waste is comprised of non-biodegradable plastics, foam, leather, and petroleum-based materials that can take up to 150 years to naturally decompose. Rackle shoes are designed to break down 30-50 times faster than those with ordinary soles. Plus, these shoes are so breathable and bouncy, you may forget you're even wearing shoes! Walking lightly on our planet has never been more comfortable.
Hemp
This high-yield crop grows quickly and usually doesn't rely on harsh pesticides and fertilizers, making it a dependable renewable resource. The cannabis plant produces more fiber per acre than common textile crops like cotton and flax, and actually adds nutrients to the soil instead of depleting them! Hemp is strong, breathable, and moisture wicking, and it requires minimal dye during fabric production due to its high absorbency qualities.

Recycled Content
Recycling is the process of taking an otherwise-discarded item or material and cleaning, sorting, and breaking it down into its basic form (such as fibers or pellets). This material is then used to produce new items. Recycling keeps useful materials from being discarded in landfills, prevents resource extraction due to the creation of new materials, and provides a new life for used items. Recycling can utilize both pre-consumer waste (materials left over from production) or post-consumer materials (used clothing, empty water bottles, etc).

Living on the coast, I see with my own eyes how many shoes wash up on the beach and it's disturbing, so I wanted to get sustainable shoes. I got this color because it complements jeans well. What I didn't expect was that they would be SOOOOO comfortable!!! Like the other review says, no break in period! Just put them on and walk and feel good! They are super light and the sole is springy and gives you a bounce! I have worn them on long walks pushing my elderly dog in a jogging stroller and they do not wear visibly! A better purchase than I realized!

The search is over. GET IT!

These are the 1st pair of "eco" shoes I'd ever bought. And honestly when I tried them the 1st time, I fell in love. They are most definitely "green" looking (if you pay close attention up-close) but to me, this is a plus. They're SO cute, so comfy, so LIGHT! no break-in period. Right out of the box they are like "made" for me. You will not regret getting these. Be sure to get half size larger than your usual size, they do run small. I can't believe this in fact, even as I'm writing this review, I wish I could tell the world about these. I'm going to be back with more orders (Birthday present for mom, sis ...), everyone should be wearing these. If not for the eco-factor, for comfort! Guys, save your feet (and joints), get these!
