Made in the USA

This product was made in the United States. Buying locally made items helps to reduce harmful emissions that result from transportation during and after the production process. Purchasing products made in the United States also ensures that the items are produced in ways that meet strict safety and labor standards.

Low Impact Ink

Companies can adopt multiple practices to print clothing, books, and catalogs in a more environmentally safe way. Low impact inks can include vegetable, soy, or water based alternatives, and generally do not contain harmful toxins like heavy metals or phthalates.

Recycled Paper

Recycled paper can contain both pre- and post-consumer recycled content. Once paper is sent to a recycling facility, it’s washed to remove any inks and converted to a watery slush called “slurry.” This slurry is spread and rolled to create different types of paper. This process keeps paper out of the landfill, prevents trees from being cut down, and saves the energy and resources needed to create virgin paper products.

About the Company

In 2013, Sara Smith started Wrappily with one goal in mind: find a solution to the 4 million tons of wrapping paper that is thrown away annually. Since most traditional wrapping paper is not able to be recycled, Sara went to the drawing board to create a new type of gift wrap. Based on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii, Sara and the Wrappily team work together with local artists to design a beautiful collection of eco-friendly gift wrap.

Wrappily offers individual sheets of wrapping paper printed with nontoxic soy-based ink on newsprint and made from recycled content that is easily recyclable at the end of life. The sheets are printed with double-sided designs on idle news-press machines that otherwise would have gone unused. We love the fact that this company is woman-owned and has a closed-loop production methodology. Get your next party started with Wrappily paper!

    Nature's version of wired ribbon

I’m slowly but surely working my way towards more eco-friendly wrapping for Xmas and birthday presents. I haven’t really worked with this kind of ribbon before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I really love it! I used it on one of my Xmas gifts. It looks beautiful, paired with brown kraft paper and a sprig of evergreen anchored under the bow.

The only learning curve is being sure to be gentle but firm when tying knots and pulling it into a bow. But its gauzy/crinkley texture allows it to mimic wired, plastic-based ribbons; once you pull it into a bow, it may seem a little pinched together, but then you an “open up” thea ribbon again, and it will hold its shape to create a full-looking bow. I look forward to purchasing more rolls in additional colors.
