    Love the Redecker Dish Brush

I have been using this dish brush set (handle + head) for about a year, and just ordered my first replacement brush head. My husband and I both love it, the longer handle makes it easy to get leverage on more sticky/greasy dishes, and it’s also great for cleaning walls up high where I can’t reach (heyyy shower mildew.)

The bristles are nice and stiff, and the whole assembly has held up well through a year of quarantine – AKA lots more dishes and use than what was previously normal for us. We’re using the “worn out” brush now as a backup for REALLY dirty stuff, and to help scrub hands of paint/grease/dirt.

    Scrubby enough

This replacement head is helpful for scrubbing up dish soap and getting dishes clean. Some of the bristles splay out a little but if you lay it down with the bristles pointing up that helps.

The brush has an unpleasant smell at first, but this wore off after several uses. Overall the brush works well.

    Good brush for cleaning dishes.

    smithlizzie324 (verified owner)

I love the alternative to plastic scrubber, and I havenā€™t had the same problem as the other reviews with bristles falling out. I would definitely recommend using the natural loofah sponge to clean really stuck food on dishes though and that might help the longevity of the bristles on this brush. Overall great brush, love the lower waste associated with it.

I have used this kind of brush for many years and was happy to find a replacement brush head. I really like this because it is not plastic.

    Gets the job done.

    Oscar (verified owner)

This brush has really worked well for me. I do have to say that the bristles come lose quite quickly, at least the first time you use the brush. As a caveat, I noticed with this first replacement brush head I’ve gotten, the bristles seemed to fall off less. All the while, the head was dropping quite a bit initially, but now, even if I’m being quite rigorous with the brush, more bristles haven’t fallen.

The replacement head works just as great as the original that came with the handle. These last so much longer than the old plastic style I was using.

    my favorite kitchen brush

    taywalters23 (verified owner)

I love my reddecker brush it is a good length and gets the job done. easy to clean the bristles after washing. My only grief is that it does crack, swell and turn dark brown/black after only a few weeks.

    Decent product

    madelyn1619 (verified owner)

So far no mold problems, but I always rinse mine after each use and let dry. I love this non plastic option but its not the best scrub brush, the bristles don’t hold for well (they are on the softer side)

    Smaller than my other one

    Cassidy Keeley (verified owner)

I have a Redecker cleaning brush and ordered this replacement head since my first one is near to needing replaced. However, this one is definitely smaller than my first one which I didn’t realize when ordering. It also came with a plastic sticker with the barcode on it. I feel like it shouldn’t need this plastic sticker. Other than being a bit smaller than expected and the unexpected plastic, I imagine it will work the same as my prior one and I will be satisfied with its function.

    Great Brush

it turned black after the first use but no mold ever grew? Despite that, the head by itself is the perfect size for cleaning coffee mugs and bowls and the handle is an added bonus for all other dishes

Swelled and grew mold in less than two weeks?

    cschoono3096 (verified owner)

Was so excited about this product and not sure if we just got a faulty one, but ours swelled up and grew mold in less than two weeks of daily use. We never submerged the head, only ran it under running water to rinse it. We did just use the head without the attached handle so I’m not sure if that made a difference or not. We also let it sit out in between uses to dry.

Hi there! We’re so sorry that this brush didn’t last very long and grew mold (yuck!). Because this is an untreated wood product that is intended to come in contact with water, mold is a likely incident, especially in humid summer months when the air or kitchen is more damp than usual. A few ways to combat this from happening include sanitizing the brush every few uses with a few spritzes of vinegar cleanser. There are particular essential oils that are fantastic at discouraging mold growth as well, including cinnamon oil, clove, thyme, and tea tree. Additionally, allowing the brush to properly dry out is also key for avoiding mold (this goes for any untreated wooden object!), but this can be hard as the brush lives in a kitchen! A random tip is employing the power of the sun to effectively dry out the wood and naturally sanitize it! We hope this helps, but please reach out for more tips and tricks for helping extend the life of this wood item.

Hi! These easy replaceable dish brush heads can actually be thrown right in your compost – wahoo to zero waste! We do recommend a commercial compost facility as it will break down the fastest there, however, it will eventually break down in a well taken care of home compost :D!

  16. Question

How often should you replace a product like this? Is it every 2-3 months like with traditional dish sponges?

Hi Alyssa! You can replace these heads whenever they are looking worse for wear. This is typically every 2-3 months like a traditional kitchen cleaning tool! We love the replaceable head option to even further reduce waste šŸ™‚

I love that you donā€™t have to get rid of the handle, just the head. The head lasts for so so long!!

    Great replacement head

    kathycanuel (verified owner)

It fits exactly into the handle its made for and continues the life of the original brush. Bonus, this little separate brush is handy to use all by itself for small spaces. So I may need two replacement brush heads, one for the brush, one for just scrubbing with a bit. I know there are others that have a big handle, but this works very well.
