Hemp
This high-yield crop grows quickly and usually doesn’t rely on harsh pesticides and fertilizers, making it a dependable renewable resource. The cannabis plant produces more fiber per acre than common textile crops like cotton and flax, and actually adds nutrients to the soil instead of depleting them! Hemp is strong, breathable, and moisture wicking, and it requires minimal dye during fabric production due to its high absorbency qualities.
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton production uses zero chemical pesticides and fertilizers, promoting a healthier use of land and decreasing harmful agricultural runoff. By steering clear of toxic chemicals, workers experience less exposure to hazardous conditions, promoting social responsibility as well as environmental stewardship. Plus, farming methods for organic cotton have been shown to use up to 20% less water than nonorganic production methods. Choosing organic cotton eliminates the use of insecticides and other harmful chemicals, promotes efficient resource use, and results in a safer products and a cleaner planet!
In ancient times, beeswax was used by the Egyptians to preserve food. Then, in the 1900's, this inspired the use of beeswax infused cloths as food storage. A century later, Khala Cloths is here to put a modern (and vegan!) twist on these historic wraps with their plant-based Vegan Reusable Food Wraps. Moldable with the warmth of your hands, these wraps consist of a cotton-hemp fabric infused with consciously-sourced soy wax, jojoba and coconut oil, and tree resin. So glad to find a vegan wrap option. For me, this replaces foil, plastic wrap, and baggies for left over fruit and veggies (and some leftovers) that need to go back into the fridge. For instance, I tend to only use half of a bell pepper or cucumber at a time. They are super easy to wrap up and reuse later. These wraps are very easy to use and clean. Highly recommend.

I’m so happy with these. My friend has some beeswax ones that I saw worked great, and I was excited to find vegan ones. There’s a small learning curve to how to use it properly but its definitely worth it!

Overall happy. I do not even warm them up a ton most of the time but a bit works enough. I get lazy of trying more. The only thing I really, really do not like is after touching them a bit especially to warm leave an oily residue. I find i have to wash with dish soap (terribly drying) because they use coconut oil so i get it but still deters from touching them a lot lol. I wash, dry and place back in the box. I really like versatility and being vegan. Been looking for an alternative to beeswax for so long!!!

I’m so happy to not use foil for our hiking sandwiches or to stare at lemons and avocados that waste away quickly without protection in the fridge

I’m so glad to find this Vegan Variety Pack Wrap! Honestly, it was my favorite Khala Wrap design and since it was vegan I just had to buy them! They smell amazing!
I actually bought the potluck wrap in addition to these and used it for the first time this weekend to cover my pasta salad dish that I’d made for my family get-together and the Khala wrap did struggle to completely bend and stick to the stainless steel at first but after I kept applying it, it finally stuck a little better. Hopefully it will adhere better over time. (that’s what I’ve been reading). I did wash it with soap and hot water and for some reason it still smelled of the oil, vinegar, and spices from my pasta salad which was odd to me because the wrap and salad didn’t even touch. I don’t know what happened there but I may try to scrub it with vinegar and/or baking soda. I’m not sure but I’ll update my comment once I’ve researched it further and experimented with it.
Also, I do worry about having them exposed to heat though because when I washed the potluck one in hot water, it acted like it was going to melt away. I probably won’t use them on anything that I have to leave outside for that reason.
Overall, I do love this Khala variety wrap pack! I’m so glad I don’t have to use Ziploc bags to put cheese blocks in anymore or saran wrap over my side dishes! I’m excited that I can use these in the freezer too! Thanks!

I love the design on these and that they’re vegan. They work great over bowls and containers, but I have some trouble with oddly shaped foods such as half or quarter avocados. They don’t seem to be flexible enough for a decent seal on these foods. They also leave a residue on my hands that I don’t like, though I just started using them and other reviews say this goes away over time. I am also worried about exposing them to heat, which has made me not take them on hikes to use as a little snack baggie. Overall, I think I’d prefer something like a Stasher bag.

I bought these for my mom for mother’s day. I’ve been trying to get her to put down the saran wrap. So far I’ve seen her use them without hesitation. She found them very easy to use. Hopefully these wraps have converted my mother.

Works well! Personally I had to stop comparing it to foil or plastic wrap— I’ve become more patient with warming it up with my hands as I mould it to press down over a dish or pan to save for later. It does stick and form well!

Can these be used to keep food freezer-safe for any period of time?

Hi Lauren! When put in the freezer, these wraps help keep food fresh for 2-3 weeks. 🙂

I really enjoy these vegan wraps. They smell so herbal and fresh. They have a great stick to them so i know they’ll last me a long time. I’m really trying to get everyone in the house off of cling wrap and this is my first start. Work great wrapped over fruits and veggies.

Nice variety pack. Good sizes and price. Sticky initially. Wish I could use them in the microwave for things like pizza or just wrapping pizza for lunches.

EarthHero –
Hey Rita! So happy you’re liking the Khala Wraps, goodbye wasteful plastic wrap! For items you’re hoping to microwave or heat up in the oven, you may want to try a Stasher Bag. While these are a little sticky right out of the package, I’ve really grown to love using them. Wrapping them around a dish or bowl is super simple. My favorite is to wrap around a half used onion or lemon. I simply rinse them off, drape over the faucet to dry and then store for reuse later.
When I got mine, I wrote the date with a Sharpie on each one.

Marlene –
Did you date them because they have a certain “shelf life”?
(0) (0)
EarthHero –
Hey Marlene,
Khala Cloths does not date their products, as they hand-make them each time EarthHero restocks our supply. We restock every month or so, as products don’t stay on the shelf long! I asked them about a specific shelf life, and they recommend using them within the first year after purchase, and they can be used for a year or so after first use (as long as they’re washed properly).
Hope that helps!
