Stop microfiber pollution at the source with the Guppyfriend Microwaste Washing Bag! According to a study from UCSB, a city the size of Berlin releases a wash-related volume of microfibers equivalent to 500,000 plastic bags... every single day. These plastic fibers from synthetic textiles are consumed by sea life, where they cause countless health problems that ultimately work their way up the food chain. The solution? Stop microfibers while you wash AND protect your clothes from shedding. The Guppyfriend is made from untreated polyamide 6.6, which captures microfibers in the washing machine so you can dispose of them properly. Plus, Guppyfriend donates profits to STOP! Micro Waste and the STOP! Plastic Academy non-profits to raise awareness about microplastic pollution and to educate students, adults, and industry partners about the problem. To use: Put synthetic textiles into the Guppyfriend. Do not overfill. Separate colors. Close the Guppyfriend and wash as usual. Take out wet textiles after washing. Remove the released microfibers from the upper corners inside of the Guppyfriend and dispose of properly. Want other ways to reduce microfiber pollution? Doesn't do anything

I waited years before buying, but now that I have -- honestly, I can't tell that it's doing anything. Videos show you'll be able to get microplastic-y "lint" out of the bag, and I've never had that. So, I'm not saying it doesn't work -- I just can't tell. I think the Girlfriend attachment on your machine seems like it might be worth looking into instead.

Hi Lauren, although you may not see anything, this bag does collect the tiny microfibers from clothing. In order to see a small amount, it could take a lot of washes, as something the fibers take time to build up. Hope this helps :) We will look into the Girlfriend attachment!

Does a great job

I bought two to balance my top loader and wash more. I love it and will never wash synthetics without the bag. I sometimes turn the bags inside out and put them in the dryer to rent the lint

Bigger than I thought

I was looking for a wash bag just like this, partly to separate clothes from the main wash that would be line dried after the wash (a fail safe visual so my husband knows not to put them in the dryer!) Thus bag definitively does the trick - it’s much bigger than I thought it would be so there’s plenty of room for the clothes inside to flop about. It seems to be made well.

The quality of the bag seems awesome.

I have several of the older version bags. Zipper broke quickly on one of them which was distressing since they are pricey bags. No response from company in inquiry. This version is much lighter and the zipper seems high quality. Time will tell. The bags collect the fibers very effectively. So far 5 stars.

Good quality

I would just have to say that it is an extra added step sorting and putting your clothes in. Especially for a person with ADHD, I am leaning towards getting one of those filters you attach to your washing machine.
