Stop microfiber pollution at the source with the Guppyfriend Microwaste Washing Bag! According to a study from UCSB, a city the size of Berlin releases a wash-related volume of microfibers equivalent to 500,000 plastic bags... every single day. These plastic fibers from synthetic textiles are consumed by sea life, where they cause countless health problems that ultimately work their way up the food chain. The solution? Stop microfibers while you wash AND protect your clothes from shedding. The GRead Moreuppyfriend is made from untreated polyamide 6.6, which captures microfibers in the washing machine so you can dispose of them properly. Plus, Guppyfriend donates profits to STOP! Micro Waste and the STOP! Plastic Academy non-profits to raise awareness about microplastic pollution and to educate students, adults, and industry partners about the problem. To use: Put synthetic textiles into the Guppyfriend. Do not overfill. Separate colors. Close the Guppyfriend and wash as usual. Take out wet textiles after washing. Remove the released microfibers from the upper corners inside of the Guppyfriend and dispose of properly. Want other ways to reduce microfiber pollution? I hate the flimsy feel of normal delicate washing bags, but this does the trick!

Purchased this specifically for pre-washing fabrics that tend to unravel in the wash before they’re sewn. This bag does a perfect job of keeping the unraveled bits in the bag and also protects the fabrics from other items in the wash. I’ve started using this as a lingerie bag for delicates, too. To give you an idea of the size of this bag, I put 4 yards of fabric in it without a problem.

Lint doesn’t always end up in the “right” spot but I do see it and I’m glad the guppyfriend is catching it.

I got this for my dad and he was very pleased — says it’s big enough for all their synthetic clothes. And it works well!

    Literally.....AMAZING!

I’ve had my eye on this for a while and decided since Earth Day was coming up, I might as well jump the gun and buy it (cause I was going to regardless).

OH. MY. GAWD! This sucker is HUGE! It literally held almost all of my synthetics (I wear mostly workout clothes, so I wear a lot of them). I didn’t catch as much as I thought I would, and I also realized they aren’t always at the top corners of the bag.

At the end of the load after getting the clothes out, I actually just inverted this over the trash can and got everything out.

I used this for my gym clothes, my intimates, and the clothes I never want to have to replace to help reduce fiber tearing and extend the life of my clothes. You do need to be a bit careful you don’t overfill the bag, but this is soooo freaking amazing! I love it! I wish they sold the GuppyFriend filter for your actual washer….

As other reviews mention, it’s quite large. Immediately from the first wash, I saw the fibers collecting in the bag. Clothes come out looking as clean as they had before without the bag.

    excellent!

I thought this bag was going to be much smaller than it is. It holds quite a bit! The first time I used it I was shocked at how much lint was left inside! I had no idea how much material was getting washed down the drain!

    Useful and great size

    laur.rowe (verified owner)

I wasn’t sure how much I’d be able to fit in the bag, but it’s been more than big enough to fit all that I need in it! I’ve been using it every week for over a month and I can see some fibers building up. I’m glad that it really works and that I’m able to wash my clothes without them shedding microplastics!

This is a great product. I was avoiding washing my fleece vest because of the microfibers getting in the water. It works great, and I’m so happy to have a clean vest!

    Great Quality

    chels.miles.4 (verified owner)

I purchased a different microwaste washing bag brand and Guppyfriend out performed with its high quality! Its very easy to use and remove fibers that collect in the corners. Its a simple way to reduce the microplastic waste that my synthetic clothes create during the wash.

Two washes and I can already see fibers!

    jscottdartlist (verified owner)

I love this! I’ve been putting any polyester clothing in the bag and leaving cotton clothing out, and I can see a small patch of fibers getting caught in the corner near the zipper after only two washes! I’m really happy that this is something I can do to reduce the amount of plastic in the waterways until I have my own place where I can put a filter on the washing machine.
