I love how many more washes I can get from soap nuts than regular detergent. There is no smell or soapy feeling after washing. These are even organic, and I love that. These actually do soap up, which I wasn’t sure if they would when I purchased these. The two bags they come with to throw the soap nuts into have held up several washes. I really don’t think I’ll ever use commercial laundry detergent ever again.

I have been very impressed so far. My clothes are coming out as clean as my previous eco friendly detergent from blueland (at 1/3 of the price per load). I do not normally use fabric softener, and my clothes are noticeably softer after a couple of uses. These are also great for my young children who seem to have sensitive skin, I use this instead of baby detergent. I also like that these are harvested sustainably and a fair wage is given to employees. If I HAD to find a negative it would be that sometimes I accidentally throw the pouch in the dryer with the laundry and have to find it, but that’s really it.

We love washing with just the soap nuts. It does a great job, is really affordable, doesn’t leave a soapy residue on the clothes like all other detergents, and we can compost them afterwards! We only have to use a small amount of other detergent if we’re washing things with tough stains. But for normal washing the soap nuts are great!

Let me tell you about these nuts… Holy cow these are amazing. I now exclusively use soap nuts for washing my laundry. These get all clothes entirely clean, they remove all sweaty smell, and get rid of dirt. The nuts don’t have any scent themselves, so they leave your clothes smelling neutral. So far this product has worked AMAZINGLY for me. I’m an athlete who soaks clothing in sweat between cross country and dance. I honestly find them very useful to get my clothes rid of odors and small stains! I think they’re just adorable too. After they are wet they smell a little of vinegar and they dry quickly for the next reuse. I don’t plan to switch back to using liquid detergent at all. As a member of a family of seven, an environmentally conscious option is always something to look for. I am very happy with the soap nuts. For smaller loads we have noticed it works better. When laundry is done they also have to dry (the freshly sudds nuts) which is something others may have to plan ahead. We love the soap nuts overall and for more sensitive pieces. For us with laundry that needs a dep cleaning we go to a stronger alternative. I love that this product is easy to take to travel (pre-COVID) and that it pays for itself with all the loads given that with typically detergent you are paying for the plastic container and 95% water. Excellent for college students too!!

My daughter turned me on to these. I’ve tried several brands and these are the best. The little bag, however, was not enough for me. So those of you out there who feel the same, here’s what I did. Found a small, green, round device at the dollar store (used to store mothballs) and had my husband drill small holes all round it. It snaps on VERY tight, and contains the nuts beautifully during washing. The holes allow all the lovely cleaning stuff to do their thing. I do activitate them first in hot tap water in a bowl by shaking them in the water, and discovered that they will even suds up in cold water when I “agitate” them. What’s not to love?!

i love this product!
