Product Care
- To use, just toss it in your washer to start catching microfibers! Although Cora Ball is very gentle, we recommend washing delicates, fine fabrics, lace & tassels separately so they don't get caught in the Cora Ball.
- How fast you will see fuzz in your Cora Ball depends on water temperature, type of clothes, lifestyle, detergent type, and washer mode!
- To clean: when you can visibily see tangles of fibers & hairs, move the stalks of the Cora Ball to the side and pinch the tangles to pull them out easily. Dispose of fibers in your trash bin.

Cora Ball
Microplastics or microfibers are the teeny tiny particles that are polluting our waterways at a concerning rate. Surprisingly enough, these particles most often originate from your washing machine. Clothing that contains synthetic fibers such as nylon, polyester, rayon, acrylic, or spandex, are essentially plastic and shed particles each time we wash them! This microfiber pollution ends up being eaten by ocean animals and then, in turn, ends up on our plates. Cora Ball was founded by underwater archaeologist and marine scientist Rachel Miller and offers a human-scale solution to a global issue. Cora Ball is the first ever microfiber catching laundry ball. Inspired the way coral filters the ocean water from foreign particles, Cora Ball mimics that behaviour and catches all the bad microplastic particles from your clothing before they make it to the water. The ball works in any washing machine. You simply throw it in with your laundry and it will catch microfibers as well as hair to prevent them from flowing out with the drain water. Once the laundry is done, you clean Cora like you clean a hairbrush, taking out the bits of fuzz and putting them in the trash. The best part? The ball itself if made from 100% recycled plastic. The Cora Ball is so easy to just throw in your washer once you have it. I do wish it was a little less expensive so it was more accessible however I would buy it again.

Like many others, I have no clue if it’s actually catching micro fibers or not. I think I saw a little bit of plastic in it the other day, but it mainly just collects my long hair. Although I’ve had it for a few months with both me and my roommate using it, neither of us have new clothes that would shred a lot of fibers. Almost everything we own is used/have had for years so I believe they shed less fiber to begin with.
I did see a reply saying that it could take even longer than months for stuff to build up, so I look forward to picking out plastic eventually!

I’ve only used this about 5 times but so far it seems to be keeping up well! I’m excited to know there’s a product I can use to catch the micro plastics in my laundry. For everyone who is skeptical about it catching anything need to remember they’re micro plastics, hence the word micro, meaning you can’t see them like a piece of lint. I also love how when you receive the product it comes with clear instructions on the use of this product as well as the packaging from the workers is really sweet! I’m very happy I have found this company and plan on buying more items in the future.

After having the cora ball for a few months, i can say that it is actually pretty useful. I have small dogs so it has been collecting their hairs including my hair. Also notice some small thread that has been collecting as well. Great purchase and plan to purchase for more.

I would recommend this as a temporary solution. You can’t use it with delicates or shirts with hang strings. A filter attachment is more effective.

I have used this in now 5 loads and haven’t caught anything, but comforted in the fact that it will catch microplastics over time. It isn’t the best solution. I would love to put a microplastics filter on my water, but I currently rent. Good quality product and really easy to just throw in with a load of wash.

So far I’ve only seen it catch large chunks of lint or strings off of clothes but I understand it takes a while for the microplastics to build up. It’s kind of hard to clean if string gets tangled in it but a careful hand and some small scissors should do the trick. When I own a house I definitely want a filter that I can attach to the drain hose but as a renter this is a great option. I share a house with multiple roommates and got them all on board to use this as well. It hasn’t done any damage to any of our clothes and is so simple so why not try?

I like that I feel like im doing more with my wash with this. Not that I wear too much plastic clothing but it’s nice to lower my impact. My only beef is this thing seeks and destroys fly away strings. I would really recommend a garmet bag for lace or even loose sweaters.

It is great that it helps keep microfibers from the ocean. As a dog parent, the only issue is that I get my husky’s hair all over it. It can also be heard to clean when small strings get caught in it. But overall it is a great addition to an ecofriendly routine.

I was surprised to see how big the ball was; it’s softball sized. So far as promised in the literature, there’s not a lot of visible fuzz BUT it did already catch some dog hair (we have 6 dogs). Am glad to have it and am looking forward to seeing more debris caught soon!

I really like this idea since microplastics are such a huge issue. I have yet to see anything captured, but I was in an older model washer, cold water, and liquid detergent. It was also bigger than I thought. I might have to decrease my load size to really see it work
