Cruelty Free
Cruelty Free is a certification process through PETA that labels products that are not tested on animals. All companies that are included on PETA’s cruelty-free list have signed a statement verifying that they don’t use ingredients or create finished products that help conduct or pay for any tests on animals.
Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors–yikes! If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.
Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.
Vegan
This product does not contain any animal products or byproducts, and has not been tested on animals.
Sustainable Manufacturing
Some or all of the energy used to make this product is produced via renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, or hydropower.

Handmade products are generally produced on a small scale, without the use of large energy consuming factories and production facilities. Buying handmade helps support art, communities, and people’s livelihoods.

The loofa was hard at first but it softens up after usages and I found that it is also good for putting my bar soaps on when I don’t have a soap holder

It’s a little rough for my liking but it works really well.

It does take a bit of effort for this to soften up but it wont sud up very well. It is a good option for someone who has sensitive skin but still wants a little bit of exfoliating action.

I’m looking for a better exfoliating brush/sponge for my arms as I get a lot of dead skin buildup there. I was hoping this would be a little more heavy duty, but if you’re looking for light exfoliation, this is great.

My husband does the dishes. He said “ugh I hate that thing. It was hard to get going (soften up) and once it got there it started falling apart (leaving loofah bits on things). I’d give is a two.”

Hi Sarah, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback! We’re so sorry that this loofah wasn’t a hit in your home. Some customers prefer a loofah that feels more like a ‘standard’ sponge, like this one! Our team will be in touch to assist shortly.

I love this sponge. Bonus is that it is softer than I expected. I use it for exfoliating from head to toe.

I got this sponge specifically for scrubbing my legs before shaving to give the closest shave. I like the size and use it as a gentle exfoliator for my entire body in the shower.

I got this to use in the shower, but was disappointed in how firm it stayed despite being soaked in water. It is a nice rough exfoliator, but for everyday use I prefer sisal mitts as a non-plastic, sustainable option.

I’m used to these being longer for shower purposes. The size is in the description, I didn’t even think to check that out so I was surprised by how small it is. Will try using it for dish washing purposes, but not sure if food particles will get stuck throughout. All in all I love these and I’m sure it will get used somehow.

How long does 1 of these last if used twice a day?

EarthHero –
Hi there! Our website states that this product should last around 6-8 months with once-daily use! My best guess for twice-daily use would be between 3-4 months!

The main reason I purchased these was to replace worn out conventional sponges with compostable options. The grain of the loofah is actually textured enough to scrape off food, something that dish scrubbers just can’t emulate. Will most likely repurchase after these wear out.
