Made in the USA

This product was made in the United States. Buying locally made items helps to reduce harmful emissions that result from transportation during and after the production process. Purchasing products made in the United States also ensures that the items are produced in ways that meet strict safety and labor standards.

Upcycled Rubber

Upcycled rubber can be salvaged from items like bicycle inner tubes or truck tires to make new products. The rubber is cleaned, cut, and sewn into new shapes to form durable and water resistant items like bags, wallets, and belts. Upcycling rubber tires can free up space in landfills and prevent chemicals from leaching into the ground when tires are disposed of. Recycling rubber lowers greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the amount of energy used and resources extracted create new rubber products, as most rubber products are synthetic and petroleum based.

Recycled PET Fabric

Recycled PET utilizes salvaged post-industrial PET scraps and post-consumer products such as water bottles and other plastic containers. These plastics are dried, crushed, and spun into yarn in order to create recycled PET fabric, or polyester. By providing a use for recycled plastics, companies encourage recycling programs worldwide, while adding new value to discarded items. Currently, over half of virgin PET production goes towards making textiles, so by utilizing recycled PET, post-consumer materials are both diverting waste while taking the place of raw materials. This helps to reduce the demand for the extraction of oil, as well as energy used to produce new synthetic fibers.

Tough, eco-friendly, and waterproof, this backpack is a perfect grab-and-go for your daily adventures. Use it to tote your laptop to work, or stuff it with the essentials for a weekend hike! Made from upcycled materials, including bicycle tubes, hardware, and nylon, this bag brings new life to old products. About the Company

Founded in 2009 by two bikers in North Carolina, Recover is always seeking “better.” Founders Bill Johnston and John Riddle decided that they wanted to make stylish and comfortable clothing while protecting and respecting the environment around them. Using plastic bottles and cotton from industrial scraps, they’re making use of already-made materials rather than extracting new resources. The Recover team pays close attention to their entire production process, using very little dyes (most of their color comes from their cotton scraps!), very few chemicals, and far less water and energy than traditional clothing manufacturers. Recover has also completely eliminated plastic packaging, fortifying their promise to sustainability. In addition to their well-rounded focus on the environment, Recover employs workers in Haiti and Guatemala, using fair wages and safe working conditions. Recover’s dedicated attention to sustainability and social responsibility deems them a brand that we fully support!

    Great Backpack, worth the buy

It took me a while to review this after buying it. With social distancing and not going out I didn’t have much need for it after I got it), but I have used it a number of times, especially while biking, and I absolutely love it. It’s sturdy and roomy but also has some give so it can be packed to the max. It’s got the handy extra zip pocket and in the main compartment there is space for a computer. I haven’t put a computer in there yet so not sure how that will feel (I’m used to computers having a completely separate compartment) but even without that this bag was worth the buy and will most likely last a long time. It also looks pretty cool on!
