I think these are beautiful and stylish earrings, but they turned my ears green. I haven’t had a pair of earrings do that since I was a child buying two-dollar earrings. I would think that earrings at this price wouldn’t have this problem. I’m not sure I’d want to buy anything else from Baleen because I’d worry about another item having the same problem.

Hi there! We are so sorry that you are experiencing this with your Baleen earrings. These are made of gold-fill, which is a thick gold exterior with a brass/ bronze interior. Brass and bronze do contain a tiny amount of copper, which is usually the cause of skin turning green with certain jewelry. I got these for my sister for Christmas and she said they were her favorite gift. They are smaller than they appear on the website, like if you had a second hole, I think they would be very good for that. But they look great!
