Cruelty Free
Cruelty Free is a certification process through PETA that labels products that are not tested on animals. All companies that are included on PETA's cruelty-free list have signed a statement verifying that they don't use ingredients or create finished products that help conduct or pay for any tests on animals.

Handmade
We support small businesses and craftspeople who create each of their products with care. Handmade products are generally produced on a small scale, without the use of large energy consuming factories and production facilities. Buying handmade helps support art, communities, and people's livelihoods.

Made in the USA
This product was made in the United States. Buying locally made items helps to reduce harmful emissions that result from transportation during and after the production process. Purchasing products made in the United States also ensures that the items are produced in ways that meet strict safety and labor standards.

Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors. If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.

Recycled Packaging
This product is packaged or shipped in materials that contain recycled content.

Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

My gums and tounge get

My gums and tounge get a strong tingling sensation when using the product, but otherwise has worked as intended. Would like to have a label with use instructions as this is the first time I've used a product like this and feel I am/was lost when applying it.

Not a pleasant taste

It worked fine and was easy to use. Many of the reviews complained about the taste - but everyone is different so I decided to get it anyway. Yeah, it doesn't taste great. I'll finish off what I have (I wanna use the jar for something else lol) but I won't be purchasing again. Other people say they like it so it must be mainly a personal thing. To each his own, though. I, personally, don't like it.

Love it, mixed with coconut oil for "paste" feel

I really enjoy this product, and LOVE that it's plastic free in this super neat corked glass container. It blends really well with coconut oil (which I mix in a separate jar) to give it a more traditional toothpaste feel. Also, unlike most natural toothpastes I've tried, it's not way too salty! In fact, it tastes just as much like peppermint as my store bought, plastic tube of toothpaste did, and I'M SO GLAD, because I was tired of feeling like I'd gotten my sodium dose for the day just from brushing my teeth first thing. I plan to convert to this 100% once I've used up my previous supply.

Toothpaste

I really love this toothpaste! I wish it could replace my old toothpaste but it's a bit harsh on my teeth so I can only use it a few days a week.

Hey Jill! Love that you are loving this tooth powder! Charcoal is awesome for lifting stains from teeth, but in powder form, it can be a bit abrasive if used too often. This one is best used as a weekly whitening treatment. You might like this charcoal toothpaste option for daily use, though!

Definitely Different from Normal Toothpaste

This is an experience; I have never had toothpaste like this. At first, the charcoal is dry, but once you start brushing it isn't so bad. The mint is extremely strong in this product. I do like how it makes my teeth black. It probably isn't doing that much whitening, but it does look cool going from gross black teeth, spitting out the toothpaste, and then going back to normal colored teeth. It is definitely worth a try if you haven't had anything like this.
