Compostable Packaging
This product is packaged or shipped in materials that can be composted in home systems or industrial facilities. Certain materials may be better fit for industrial facilities than backyard composting systems. Contact your local waste-hauler or composting facility to determine where these materials may be accepted. Industrial facilities may not exist in your area.
Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives, commonly used in beauty products like shampoo, lotion, and deodorants. Parabens can accumulate in your body, and have been linked to hormonal disruption and reproductive problems. In studies of breast cancer patients, parabens have been found in the tissue of cancerous tumors–yikes! If you want to avoid Parabens in your beauty products, keep an eye out for methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben in the ingredients list.
Phthalate Free
Phthalates are found in toys, electronics, personal care products, plastic wraps, containers, and more. These petroleum based chemicals help soften plastics, and bind fragrances to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other personal care products. Phthalates are are not chemically bound, meaning they can easily get released into the air, water, or your body, just by using the products as intended. Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive damage, hormonal imbalances, infertility, mood changes, metabolism changes, and more.
Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

I have tried several conditioner bars, and this one is the best so far. I like the shape a lot. I have naturally wavy hair, I don’t wash everyday, but I do use conditioner everyday or my hair would be a frizzy mess. This leaves my hair soft and super manageable. Has a light fresh fragrance(kind of citrusy).

I have fine, straight hair that I usually wash every other day, and it gets oily pretty easily. I had been using Lush conditioner bars and they were hard to use (though I think they have since changed them). This is so easy to use, and leaves my hair soft and perfectly conditioned! Plus it’s zero-waste, a win-win!

This is a great conditioner bar, I love the shape of it that makes it easy to hold! I would say it takes a bit of practice to understand how much of any conditioner bar to lather in your hair as it is super concentrated (a bottle of conditioner in one bar) and can leave a residue in your hair if too much is applied! I had this problem in the back of my hair for this bar but I just had to reduce the amount I was putting in my hair! This bar makes my hair super soft and my scalp doesn’t become too oily! Plus the packaging is compostable and no plastic! I would definitely recommend giving this one a try to see if it is for you!

Question
julilynn05 –
I noticed that all the HiBar conditioner bars are fragranced. I’ve learned that I can’t tolerate any fragrances (including natural fragrances). Might we consider finding an unscented conditioner bar to purchase here?

Hi there! This is a great suggestion and something our Product Team is always seeking out when it comes to skincare and hair care. We haven’t come across a company making an unscented option, but we’ll keep looking until we do. Thank you for the feedback! 🙂
