Cruelty Free

Cruelty Free is a certification process through PETA that labels products that are not tested on animals. All companies that are included on PETA’s cruelty-free list have signed a statement verifying that they don’t use ingredients or create finished products that help conduct or pay for any tests on animals.

Phthalate Free

Phthalates are found in toys, electronics, personal care products, plastic wraps, containers, and more. These petroleum based chemicals help soften plastics, and bind fragrances to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other personal care products. Phthalates are are not chemically bound, meaning they can easily get released into the air, water, or your body, just by using the products as intended. Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive damage, hormonal imbalances, infertility, mood changes, metabolism changes, and more.

Sulfate Free

Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

Organic Content

Organic materials and ingredients are grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers, promoting a healthier use of land and decreasing harmful agricultural runoff. By steering clear of toxic chemicals, farm workers experience less exposure to hazardous conditions, promoting social responsibility as well as environmental stewardship. Choosing organic materials eliminates the use of insecticides and other harmful chemicals, promotes efficient resource use, and results in a safer products and a cleaner planet!

  1. Question

With it being oil based, do you have to spit out in trash as to not clog the pipes? Or is this product safe to spit out in bathroom sink?

Hi Angela, great question! This mouthwash should be spit into the compost bin or wastebasket to avoid any pipe issues. We hope that you love this great low-waste mouthwash!

Much better than an alcohol and other non-oil pulling mouthwash. Makes me want to use mouthwash more. Leaves mouth feeling fresh and clean, almost like a coming from a fresh dentist clean feeling. It is in a small bottle , but a little goes a long way

Very different from using regular mouthwash. Pros were that it came in plastic free packaging and a glass bottle, taste good, and easy to use. Cons were small bottle for the price, had to swish for 5-20 minutes, and doesn’t leave my mouth/breath feeling clean. I don’t want to discourage anyone from trying it but after a few weeks of using this it just isn’t for me. I will probably try making my own zero waste mouthwash.

My mom wanted an eco-friendly swap from the mouthwash she buys in a plastic bottle to something better and this oil pulling mouthwash was one of the things I found. She wasn’t interested in trying the tablets so we went with this & the first thing I noticed was it does have a strange flavor. It’s almost thick? It definitely coats your entire mouth but takes some getting used to. The size did seem a bit small but works well.

Hi, Ashley! This mouthwash is definitely a different experience than your standard mouthwash, as it is an oil-pulling mouthwash and not alcohol-based. The coconut oil produces a thick texture that gathers germs from your mouth while swishing, providing a clean, fresh feeling once it’s swished around and spit out! We hope that she continues to love it!

Kinda strange, in a good way

I’ve heard of oil pulling and wanted to give it a try. I’m glad this was the first product I decided to get. It takes some getting used to, it’s a thin oil than becomes a whipped-creamy mixture when swishing in mouth. Was surprised in the size, is this not supposed to replace my Listerine? It’s so small. Good product, order two though.

    Fun, unusual oil mouthwash

    kwyjibo4 (verified owner)

I was not sure how I would like/feel about an oil mouthwash being use to the liquidy mouthwash. It is unusual and takes some getting use to but once I used it a bit there were no Issues. I choose the Red Mandarin flavor cause why not mandarin? It is a fun refreshing flavor. Not too strong and not too weak. Leaves a pleasant taste in your mouth (remember NO rinsing). I just followed the 2 tsp. recommendation, swish around mouth, and so far it has worked fine (dentist check will be true test). Every part of this product is recycleable! So far I am happy with this product.
