Rackle Shoes
When you purchase a pair of shoes, you might think about how long they'll last YOU, but what about how long they'll last on the planet? Americans toss an average of 300 million pairs of shoes away each year (!) and the majority of these end up in landfills where they take 30 to 40 years to break down. Yikes! This alarming end of life prompted a group of experts with decades of experience in the footwear industry to create Rackle Shoes: footwear specifically designed to combat the shoe/landfill issue. The quest: build the most planet-friendly shoe possible. This meant sourcing a truly earth-loving upper material (hemp), conceptualizing a sole that employed minimal adhesives, enhanced foot-health, and was composed of an eco-foam that would more readily breakdown than traditional soles. What came forth was a classic silhouette and an incredibly lightweight and comfortable shoe. Rackle Shoes will float you from street to office to nature walk, all with a lighter footprint on our planet!
