Pacific Merchants Trading Company

When Bruce Mannis founded Pacific Merchants Trading Company in his garage in 1992, his goals were the same as they are now: to provide outstandingly useful and attractive products while providing customer service that exceeds expectations. He began sourcing hand crafted, Acacia wood products from sustainably managed forests, and found exactly what he was looking for.

Years later, Pacific Merchants Trading Company is still a small, family owned company. To this day, you'll find interesting products that are classic yet stylish, on trend but timeless, and extremely high quality. Bruce knew that his customers would expect excellent value, and therefore created products that speak for themselves and last for generations.

Hand Crafted, High Quality

Acaciaware and sustainability go hand and hand. Pacific Merchants Trading Company has been committed to quality from the very beginning: understanding that they don't have to be the cheapest, just the best quality for the price. With that price and quality comes extensive sustainability measures that will make you love these unique pieces even more! Each Acacia wood product starts in a responsibly managed forest, where the harvesting rates and clearing sizes do not interrupt the forest's natural regenerative capacity. This ensures that the natural ecosystems are healthy and maintained, while still providing raw material for Pacific Merchants products. They ensure that chemical use in these forests is minimized and eliminated when possible, and anti-clear cutting policies protect streams and rivers from erosion and pollution. Pacific Merchants also participates in replanting efforts to set an example for their industry on the best way to provide natural products in a responsible way. Pacific Merchants knows that sustainability also includes sustainable communities and working relationships. By sponsoring local initiatives that promote health and wellbeing like free lunch programs, free eye exams and eyecare, and providing academic scholarships to students, they show tangible support to communities, indigenous folks, and workers. At their Los Angeles warehouse, they've purchased a special machine that turns used shipping boxes into a packing material that's then used to cushion their products during shipment. This plastic free packaging material is then able to biodegrade or be recycled again! Pacific Merchants is committed to continuing their sustainable efforts in all aspects of their business.
