Compostable
This product contains material that can break down into soil in either a backyard or industrial composting system. These products are declared compostable by the manufacturer, but may not third-party certified. Contact your local waste-hauler or composting facility to determine where these materials may be accepted. Certain materials may be better fit for industrial facilities than backyard composting systems. Industrial facilities may not exist in your area.

Cruelty Free
Cruelty Free is a certification process through PETA that labels products that are not tested on animals. All companies that are included on PETA's cruelty-free list have signed a statement verifying that they don't use ingredients or create finished products that help conduct or pay for any tests on animals.

Organic Content
Organic materials and ingredients are grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers, promoting a healthier use of land and decreasing harmful agricultural runoff. By steering clear of toxic chemicals, farm workers experience less exposure to hazardous conditions, promoting social responsibility as well as environmental stewardship. Choosing organic materials eliminates the use of insecticides and other harmful chemicals, promotes efficient resource use, and results in a safer products and a cleaner planet!

Phthalate Free
Phthalates are found in toys, electronics, personal care products, plastic wraps, containers, and more. These petroleum based chemicals help soften plastics, and bind fragrances to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other personal care products. Phthalates are are not chemically bound, meaning they can easily get released into the air, water, or your body, just by using the products as intended. Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive damage, hormonal imbalances, infertility, mood changes, metabolism changes, and more.

Sulfate Free
Sulfates are synthetic chemical ingredients commonly used in beauty products and household cleaners, like shampoos and dish soaps. You can usually identify sulfates in an ingredients list by looking out for the most common types: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLC) and Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES). These chemicals, often derived from petroleum, are used to help form the “lather” we’re used to seeing in our beauty and cleaning products. When used in the shower or sink, these chemicals can flow through the pipes and into our waterways. Synthetic sulfates have been linked to allergic reactions, eye and skin irritation, and hair loss, and some studies suggest they contain carcinogenic ingredients.

Worse product than before

I have used georganics floss before (I ordered the refills because I already had a glass container), and I loved it before. The new product is worse! It doesn't fit into the glass container and it rips CONSTANTLY which then shaves off pieces of floss between my teeth that I have to floss back out with more. I recommend the product goes back to its old formula.

So sorry to hear this! Someone from our team will be in touch soon!

Did not fit my container

I had no problems with the functionality of the floss, at least for me is doesn't break and does the job. My problem if that it did not fit my GEORGANICS container, which does not make sense since the refill and the container are from the same brand.

Hi Melissa, we're sorry this floss isn't fitting in your container! Last year Georganics updated their floss and refill sizes (we carry the 2.0 version now!) so their older 2020 sizes are no longer a match.

Okay

It shreds quite a bit for me, mostly with my molars. I think my teeth are too close together back there, but I will definitely look around before buying again.

Did not shred for me (unlike other similar brands!)

I don't know if there are batch issues, but I've used lots of different compostable/silk flosses and this one has been the best. It did not shred it break or get stuck in my teeth, and I have very tight contacts. Other brands I've used have constantly broken because my teeth are so tight.

The worst

Don't buy this product. I made the mistake of thinking the other reviews were over exaggerating…they weren't. It constantly breaks and gets stuck in your teeth. Silk floss works much better than this flimsy mess.
